Yeah, it’s me again for week 2 of the Fantasy Waiver Show. I hope you didn’t listen to me overreact to last week’s fantasy suggestions. But if you did, that’s on you! Two waiver pickups all season is a brutal brutal game to play and that’s why I’m here to point you in the right direction! I can’t tell the future nor do I scrape the ISFL sim files for answers because I have the best tool of all. My eyeballs.
QB - Preston Beatz -
Holy shit, where did you come from? Leading the QBs over 2 weeks with a last name that doesn’t rhyme with Bavage is Baltimore Hawks Rookie QB Preston Beatz. The Hawks don’t really have a WR core right now but Dante King gets to play any position he wants to in this offense and has been killing it for them. Preston isn’t going to throw for four touchdowns every game, sure. This was a perfect game for the young rookie. But if you’re reading this, you need an unconventional pickup and Beatz could be a fun roller coaster moving forward.
RB - Ceti Pyxis -
Now you probably picked her up as a FLEX or a RB2 but if she’s available in any of your leagues, go get this running back. The Yeti have been putting together a more balanced attack as they establish stability in their offense. Yeti isn’t slinging it like they used to and have kept their games close so there’s likely a chance for a run-heavy game-script down the stretch. She’s a sneaky top-five RB on the season and is only missing touchdowns to be truly a fantasy elite. Pyxis will be a reliable option if you looking to replace your RB this year.
WR - Matthew Mara -
Okay yeah fine, he had a BIG game to inflate his fantasy value. But what if this is for real? He’s at 22.5 yards per carry and I’m excited about it. Yes, he’s like the second or even third option on this team. But I mean, New York is throwing that thing all day so far. With plenty of mouths to feed and a high TPE QB that can cook up a feast, Mara isn’t a bad option to consider moving forward.
Theo Awardsystemisbad - OL -
This is a no-brainer. I think they got like 19 pancakes their first game and now 8 this game. Dude is serving breakfast out there and refuses to disappear from fantasy relevance. Plus he’s not giving up sacks so far so it’s looking pretty good overall for this pickup here. Our top fantasy OL just aren’t performing like they used to, but Theo stays the same.
