Lane Frost III, the wide receiver for the Dallas Birddogs, and son of Grey Ducks legend, Lane II, as well as grandson to legendary head coach Lane Sr, and cousin to Xavier and Aiden Frost, has a lot in store for him in his first season in the DSFL. He will have to live up to his father, as well as his cousin Aiden's image in the league going forward.
Lane II racked up a total of 4,510 receiving yards on 278 receptions and 26 touchdowns. He was awarded a pro bowl nod in three of his four seasons and was a perennial Wide Receiver of the Year candidate. On top of all that he was a legendary returner. Collecting 1,943 kick return yards and 263 punt return yards. He kick return yards rank 4th in league history. He was moved to offensive line after he gained over 200 lbs in an offseason of sitting on the coach and not training, where he became the bolster of the offensive line for the Honolulu Hahalua for two season winning an Ultimus Bowl in the process. He played one season at tight end in the WFC before retiring at the age of 30.
Aiden on the other hand was a running back for Dallas in his hay day. He player two seasons in the DSFL racking up 1,889 rushing yards, 270 receiving yards, 1,522 return yards, and 14 total touchdowns. After his second season in the DSFL, Aiden retired to play in the XFL where he torn his Achilles not long after, ending his career. Aiden was also drafted by the Chicago Butchers.
Xavier is the only player to play defense in the Frost family, being drafted by the Minnesota Grey Ducks. He played two seasons for the Grey Ducks, collecting 124 tackles, three forced fumbles, threw sacks, eight interceptions, 21 pass deflections, and a defensive touchdown. He also was a return for one year racking up 600+ yards. That would make him the third Frost family player to have a 600+ yard returner season. Xavier would quit football to focus on his family and his mental health.
That brings us to Lane Frost III, the youngest member of the Frost family. Lane played only one year at LSU collecting 1,672 receiving yards on 103 receptions and 21 total touchdowns. He won the Biletnikoff award and the Jet award. He also was ranked second in the Maxwell and third in the Heisman. All this in his freshman season. The 19-year old phenomenon looks to be a staple in the league for years to come. Welcome to Dallas young man!
