Task 14:
Expansion would be a very bad idea at this point in time with how sparse draft classes have been with active and high earning players. Before the Season 42 recruitment there were plans to turn two of the current DSFL teams into bot teams due to how many were rostered with inactive players and GM bots. The next two draft classes had only 42 and 50 people create a player, and this includes people who instantly went inactive and never even got drafted into the ISFL. Filling out positions like Tight End, Offensive Line, and Defensive Tackle would become a problem when you make increase the total needed in the league. The league has had several teams completely dumpster themselves and lag well behind the rest kd the league. Right now it’s New Orleans, previously was Honolulu and Baltimore. I think there’s a difference between blowing a team up to rebuild and how barren these rosters were where there were several seasons where the teams were below 500 TPE/P. Expansion would make these teams even worse as there are more options in teams for players to go to. These teams would be made up by inactive players for the most part, as well as an offensive line full of bots. This could stabilize at some point but would once again require a larger draft class size each season. Seasons not part of the r/nfl recruiting seasons are too small to support a league of 16 teams, let alone 18 or even 20. The SHL to compare has 20 teams and requires a similar amount of players per team (15 skaters and 2 goalies), but has a less harsh regression to allow players to play for much longer, and only three positions vs eleven positions in ISFL. Even then the SHL still has these problems (along with others specific to its sport and progression.)
