Once more an update between those six players and their career stats:
The below stats are comparing these players (huge players in their position/Hall of Famers) at Linebacker (some still active) after 10 seasons of their career. Why 10? Cause my own player, Friedman has had 10 seasons so far. And also 10 is a nice round number.
Tackles:
Maxwell 1142
De Ville 1127
Akayre 1111
Murder-Moose 1058
O'Sullivan 1044
Slammu 968
Pretty even all around, Sallmu started slower and is still behind, Maxwell in the meantime has taken the lead and looks poised for a push into the top 3 all time in his career, potentially even a fight for the top spot.
Tackles for Loss:
Maxwell 110
De Ville 81
Akayre 81
Slammu 52
Murder-Moose 42
O'Sullivan 29
This has always been my strongest category and it continues to be. I am now pretty much a lock for 2nd all time here. I don't think I can reach Alexander, he is way ahead still at 142 I think total. Unlikely to reach that.
Sacks:
Akayre 136
Murder-Moose 133
De Ville 132
Slammu 118
Maxwell 108
O'Sullivan 68
The top 3 insanely close. O'Sullivan way behind as an early season guy. Maxwell, honestly, has lost some ground here in recent seasons. Still a very respectable amount, but I am not gonna reach top 5 in this one probably. Tenth is still in reach all time though.
Forced Fumbles:
Akayre 45
De Ville 41
Murder-Moose 36
Maxwell 35
Slammu 23
O'Sullivan 8
This is where the newer guys really stand out. Akayre and de Ville especially. But I am also still happy with 35, it is already top 10 all time too and really shows how strong these guys are.
Fumbles Recovered:
De Ville 19
Akayre 17
Murder-Moose 17
Slammu 14
Maxwell 11
O'Sullivan 1
Maxwell definitely a bit behind here too.
Obviously ten seasons is already a good point to look at things but the end of careers can often differ wildly. Between retirements at different points and usage and time being different at the end of careers, a lot can change here. I know that I as a true rookie will also have an advantage over certain guys who may not have been.
It is astonishing how strong several of these guys are though and that they played at the same time. It definitely explains some of the lack of awards I have had personally and that will probably be a downside when it comes to the hall of fame. I know that some of these guys are in another category than me in that regard.
Still, my stats should speak for themselves in the end. I think that I will end up top 3 in tackles, top 2 in tackles for loss, top 10 for sacks and top 5 for forced fumbles. I personally think that that should be enough for a hall of fame spot, even without having had many awards in that time. But I guess a lot can still happen in 3 seasons and I am curious to see how it will all end up in the end when it's all said and done.
Who do you think is the best of the six based on the stats above, let me know in the comments!
