AS first time kdr exits the survivor stage for the first time we interview him on the experience for the ISFL network.
Inte R. Viewer: So, you knew nothing of the ISFL when this whole survivor start and yet you finished tied for 5th. How do you feel right after your exit?
kdr: Well, it is an exhilerating feeling. I never thought I would do so well. I thought I would be out at the first hurdle, since I didn't really know anything about the teams involved yet.
Inte R Viewer: Well, that is a good place to start. How did you make it past the first round?
kdr: well, I looked around at all of the teams and it came down to 2 thing for my first pick. 1) I am from NY so I said let's go with the home team and 2) When I listened to most of the other contestants on the Island and they seems to have the New York Silverbacks so I put in the pick. And I was then in it to win it.
Inte R Viewer: You certainly went along with the pack as 25 of the 44 first round entries had the SilverbacksSo, you survived the first round and the competitive juices got flowing. Did you form a strategy for your picks going forward.
kdr: Well, seeing that first pick helped me formulate my pick strategy for the next couple of rounds.
Inte R Viewer: And what was that developing strategy.
kdr: Well, I had a little idea of the teams now for this season. And I wanted to use my gut for the next picks. My strategy was to look at what might be the weaker teams later on and pick them earlier against other weak teams. This led me in week two to go with Austin. Event though they won, New York was impressive against a weak Yeti team and Austin was impressive on the road in week one and were coming home. So, Austin was my pick and made it through week 2.
Inte R Viewer: Nice. Now, week 3 and 4 are unique in the survivor realm in that you have to make two picks at once. So, you make a pick for week four now knowing if you will even be around for it. Did that change your strategy for those picks?
kdr: No, not really. I stayed with the looking for teams against weak teams. So, Yellowknife seemed the pick for week 3 against the weakest Yeti team. That left me with week 4 and I was undecided on what to do. I wavered back and forth, but went with what had been lucky for me in round 2 and picked against the Silverbacks one more time. This was the first pick I wasn't that confident of. Even though I had picked Arizona to do very well for the season, they were in fact not, but I rolled with them.
Inte R Viewer: And it worked out. You made it through to round number five. So, what happened next?
kdr: Well, Inte, this is where things started to heat up. We were down to the last 10 entries and I decided to switch up my strategy a little. I started looking down the road a little am planning out my possible picks a few weeks in advance. I wanted to make sure I had good picks for a two to three week stretch and not come to a week where I used all of my good teams. I also started ease-dropping on my fellow competitors and if possible going against them. For week 5 there was a lot of talk of the Sailfish or the Otters. I decided to go against the trend and go with the strong Crash and if the other two lost would only be 3 left. Well it half worked as the otters loosing took out a number of competitors.
Inte R Viewer: And was it more of the same for week 6.
kdr: yes it was. I had my plan for what I could see for the next few weeks. I had New Orleans, then Baltimore and Sarasota for weeks 6, 7 and 8 respectively. However, all of my competitors were talking up Secondline and I decided to hold them in reserve and go with the team playing the Yeti. The Yeti have been terrible and Berlin should handle them. This might have been the begining of my downfall.
Inte R Viewer: But you made it through with flying collors for week 6. The what happened in week 7?
kdr: Well, I think I outsmarted myself. I was all lined up with Baltimore, but then again all my competitors were talking about them and it had worked so good for me the previously week I again decided to hold them in reserve. They were playing the Yeti, so it was an easy pick probably no way to loose, but I decided to go my own way. Now I went with San Jose at home against Austin and SJ laid an egg. Why didn't I just go with New Orleans who I skipped last week just for this type of need. Ot better yet, just go with everyone and if we all loose it is a push right. And then I will still be in it to win it.
Inte R Viewer: Well, I am actually not sure what happens if everyone left looses at the same time, we will have to check with the Casino authorities. So, that is it any last words for our readers?
kdr: Well, just it was a tough way to loose and watch out because I will be back and not make the same mistake and take home the pot. Be afraid, be very afraid.
Inte R Viewer: Well, that is it for me. Until next time when we bring to you the winner of Big Brother RB edition. Goodbye and goodday
