Losses are never easy and that is very true for everyone. Of course we at the Arizona Outlaws are not very accustomed to this thing that everyone calls losing as we only really focus on winning, which can be seen by everyone else being tired of all the winning we are doing. When we unfortunately succumb to this ugly thing called losing, there are a few things which we try to do and which I try to help out in. The first thing is humor, which helps cure almost all diseases such as losing. Usually we try to humor ourselves with how many interceptions and pick sixes that Donovan Winters through or how many fumbles Jordan Bamford had. Another way we try to attack this disease is by putting together good old faith trains in the locker room or just some giant pew pew emoting to each other. This helps distract from the disease and helps put us back in the right frame of mind
Handlin' a loss is never easy, but that's where true grit and determination come into play. After a tough loss, it's not about hangin' our heads – it's about risin' up and comin' back stronger.
First and foremost, I get back to work, focusing on improvin' what I can do better. Every setback is a setup for a comeback, and I analyse every play, every move, to see where I can sharpen my skills. Whether it's hittin'' the weight room, studyin' game tape, or puttin' in extra reps on the field, I lead by example and show my teammates the grind never stops.
But it's not just about my own improvement. As a leader, I take it upon myself to lift the spirits of the team. I gather the guys and deliver some Hammer-style pep talks, remindin' them of our strengths and the thunderous potential we have as a unit. I share stories from my own journey, from my unicyclin' days to the blacksmithin' forge, to remind them that perseverance and dedication are what define us.
And let's not forget about keepin' things light. Sometimes, after a brutal loss, you need a little laughter to break the tension. That's when I pull out the unicycles or challenge the guys to a wrestle. It's all about buildin' that camaraderie and remindin' each other that we're a family, on and off the field.
In the end, it's a combination of hard work, leadership, and a touch of humour that helps us bounce back. We learn from our mistakes, we tighten our bonds, and we hit the field with renewed energy. Because when you're part of the Otters, brother, you know that every loss is just the prelude to a greater victory!

With the Bondi Beach Bucs being 2-2, losing isn't unfamiliar to us. When you get drafted and join the DSFL, you have high dreams of awards and championships so losing is never a good feeling for a rookie. Slam has been working alongside the veterans of the locker room to keep morale high. At the end of the day, being 2-2 isn't so bad and there's still a chance for the BBB to make the playoffs. Slam likes to touch on the positives after each game and talk about what the team did well so that it can be carried over to the next game. In terms of coping with a loss himself, Slam likes to watch film to see how he can avoid the mistakes he had in the previous game. He takes time to himself to be in nature to relax and clear his mind. This allows him to move onto the next week with a new intense focus without being stuck on the past.
Ace's growing role in the Sarasota locker room means a growing responsibility to help lift the team up after a hard loss. As a six year veteran of the league, Ace takes pride in helping to mentor the younger players on the team. Whether that be in their actual play or their mindset. Ace has always believed that an athlete's mindset is the most important part of their game, if you go into a game thinking you're going to lose or that you're not going to play well then that is probably going to be true. He always make sure that he is the guy in the middle of the huddle, helping to get the guys riled up and ready to go before a game, making sure they listen to coach at halftime, and making sure they hold their heads high and focus on the next game after a tough loss.
