1st Reporter:
Hi Dub, Alex Ribunetay from the Tijuana Tribune here. Is there anything you want to share with us about the upcoming week 1 matchup with the Dallas Birddogs? Dub Redd: Look I know how you reporters are, always trying to get some sort of bulletin board material ahead of the game to generate a click bait article. All I've got to say, is that Dallas is a damn good team, and there are no easy wins in this league. 1st Reporter: So you think Dallas will be an easy win for Tijuana in week 1? Dub Redd: HEY! That is not what I said and you know it! Do NOT twist my words against me newspaper man. Dallas is a tough as they get. Hell they might be our greatest challenge all season. 1st Reporter: So Tijuana only sees Dallas as a potential challenger this season? Should be easy sailing against all the other opponents? Dub Redd: One more word out of your mouth Alex Ribunetay and I will personally Frog Splash off this podium and give you the ole "One Two Kitten Mittens" if you know what I mean! Okay next question I've had enough of this fool. 2nd Reporter: The "One Two Kitten Mittens"? Dub Redd: Yeah it's Dub Redd's signature wrestling move which you can see in the Luchador Ring, this Thursday February 23rd 8 Eastern on the ISFL Youtube Channel. No more questions.

Media asks me about my involvement in Bountygate this offseason. Here's my response to the media
First and foremost, I want to take full responsibility for my actions and apologize for any harm or wrongdoing that may have been caused by my involvement in the bountygate scandal. I understand that this type of behavior goes against the integrity and values of the game of football, and I am committed to taking the necessary steps to ensure that this never happens again. During the offseason, I was caught up in a culture of competitiveness and a desire to win at all costs. I now realize that this mindset is not only detrimental to the sport, but also to the health and safety of the players involved. I want to make it clear that I had no intention of hurting any other players or putting their careers at risk. Moving forward, I am dedicated to being a positive influence on and off the field. I will work tirelessly to promote fair play, respect for the game, and the safety of all players involved. I am committed to being a role model for young athletes and a positive representative of the sport of football. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to address this matter.
New year means new expectations, and when your quarterback is entering his twilight years, questions about his ability to lead the team will inevitably arise, especially when his successor waits in the wings as Blaine Falco does. Don’t bring up that inevitably around Mandrews McHollywood though, as he is fiercely loyal to his current quarterback, the man who’s led the New York Silverbacks to the playoffs once in Mandrews’s career, and Mandrews himself to 2 1,000 yard seasons.
“With your QB entering his 9th ISFL season, do you think it’s time for New York to move on, especially when such a talented successor is available?” Asked one reporter. Mandrews took a second to respond. “I mean no disrespect to Blaine (Falco) when I say this. I think he is an extraordinarily talented QB and I’m excited to see where he leads us in the future, but you’re way out of line suggesting that Savage is anything other than one of the best QBs in the game right now.” 167 Words

Reporter: "Sir, over the course of the offseason, you've certainly been involved with more than your fair share of... let's be generous and call them 'antics' in the weeks leading up to the start of the season. Driving a monster truck through downtown Minneapolis, appearing in televised pro-wrestling matches, bringing your pet alligator (Chomps) to training camp, starting a bonfire in your practice facility, taking your entire team on wild casino excursions, just to name a few. At what point do you feel like your constant ridiculous, and often dangerous, antics are going to be a threat to your teams playoff chances? I mean, analysts are predicting a fairly lean year for the Grey Ducks, since they have a fairly low effective TPE, and maybe the team needs to be at 100% focus, and not having to worry about someone setting off cherry bombs in the locker room's toilets."
Florida Man: "Get him, Chomps." Disclaimer: If Princess Donut talks, its in caps lock. I apologize for any offense taken with this.

So Donte Darius didn’t exactly have an amazing rookie year. It wasn’t bad by any means, as he finished with 91 tackles and 10 passes defended but he lacked in splash plays, with just 1 sack and 1 interception with 0 fumble recoveries or fumbles forced. The New York media is infamous for being perhaps a bit too harsh on their players, and so Darius was asked the following question. “Why do you think that you’ve had such a disappointing year?”. Darius has been through a lot, he has time traveled, he has fought for a UFC championship, and he was a first round pick in the ISFL, but he has never dealt with a question so dumb. He responded “I don’t know man why do you think that just because you hold a microphone and ask questions that means you’re a reporter?” The sickest burn this side of the Mississippi for sure. Darius then promptly ended the conversation and the press conference for that matter, and was later fined 12,500 dollars by the New York Silverbacks.

The reporter: "Given your team's poor performance last season, what guarantees can you make that this year will be any different?"
My response: "I'm not in the business of making guarantees, but I can guarantee that we have worked hard to create a winning culture this offseason. We have the right players and coaches in place, and we are confident that we can turn things around and have a successful season." The reporter: "What would you say to people who think you don't really care about football?" My response: I would like to politely remind you all that I have dedicated my entire professional career to the game of football. I am passionate about the sport and take pride in representing the ISFL and giving back to the game. The reporter: "Given the amount of controversy surrounding you this offseason, do you think you have enough support in your locker room to lead your team to victory?" My response: "I have been and will continue to be dedicated to my team and I am confident that all of the players in the locker room have faith in my leadership. We are focused on winning games and making a successful season. That is our priority." |
