The year that I created was a reddit year, I came from r/madden. My favorite position in football is cornerback so I went with that. What I didn’t know is that 10 other people would I have same idea as me! They were:
Andre Bly Jr.
Tanner Hendrix
LaMarcus Mills
Gregory Fletcher
Jakob Andrews
Jackie Jordan
Eric Foreman
Tegan Atwell
and my personal favorite name… Boston Ooty!
Now only 4 of us remained active, Me, @sapp2013, @The_Hero and @Jiggly_333. What makes this even more interesting is that only me and The_Hero were non recreates, meaning that only 2 of us new guys stayed active. I am still mad that Boston Ooty didn’t stay active. What a name.
Also just to mention all TPE values were taken on 2/16/18 (1 day before updates, so these values will change very soon)
So for this nice media piece we will be taking a look at each of our NSFL careers (so far). Starting with: Andre Bly Jr.
Andre Bly Jr
Draft Pick: S5 Round 1 Pick 2 by Yeti
Career Record: 2-12
Career Interceptions: 4
Career Pass Defenses: 14
Career Tackles: 72
Trophy Case:
TPE: 437
Andre Bly Jr has the most TPE out of all of us and it’s not even close. He had a 10 day head start on me from when I created. One of the storylines that popped up early in Bly’s career was him refusing to be drafted by any DSFL team that didn’t contact him. This let the clear #1 pick in the S4 DSFL draft fall to #4 to the Coyotes. In his DSFL career he didn’t really impress which really falls onto bad sim luck, as if memory serves me right he was almost 240 TPE after the first few weeks. His high TPE and the fact that Sapp is GM of the Yeti made him the clear favorite to go #1 or #2 in the draft, as the Yeti had both picks. It was going around the league that Sapp would make himself go #2OA behind the very high TPE Tight End Carlito Crush. So that’s what happened. With the #2 overall pick the Colorado Yeti selected Andre Bly Jr. Cornerback out of the University of Florida. Bly quickly burst onto the scene in Colorado his rookie year. He notched 4 interceptions along with 14 PD’s and a TD. On top of that he returned kicks and punts very effectively getting 2 kick return TD’s as he was one of the few bright spots on the 2-12 Yeti. Andre Bly Jr. may be one of the future greats of the league and he’s only just entering his second season.
So I figure we will go in order of TPE (I’m last yay) so up next…
Gregory Fletcher
Draft Pick: S5 Round 1 Pick 6 by Hawks
Career Record: 8-6
Career Interceptions: 1
Career Pass Defenses: 4
Career Tackles: 84
Trophy Case: S4 DSFL Best DB
TPE: 297
Man talk about bad sim luck. Poor Fletcher. He played in all 14 games but seemed to be a non factor forcing turnovers. The 2nd best TPE corner of the S5 class played like one of the inactive 50 TPE guys stat wise. Anyways, Fletcher is the only other non-recreate active corner from our class. In the S4 DSFL draft he was picked 13th to the Marshals, and he didn’t disappoint. Unlike in his rookie NSFL year Fletcher had a great DSFL year. He had 3 INT’s and 17 PD’s which lead the DSFL by 2. He made it to the DSFL Championship but sadly (or not sadly for me) lost to the Portland Pythons. However his great play did not go unnoticed by the awards voters as he picked up the DSFL best DB for S4. His great play and high TPE led him to go #6OA in the NSFL draft to the Hawks. Like I mentioned in the beginning he had a very disappointing rookie year. He had only 1 interceptions and 4 PD’s while playing 100% of snaps. This is sort of similar to Bly’s DSFL season where a high TPE guy shit the bed in terms of stats. Honestly I wouldn’t be worried at all if I was @The_Hero or the Hawks. Fletcher’s sophomore season will be a lot more kind to him. No player with this much TPE will be putting up bad stats for long and the Hawks will have a good corner for many years.
Tegan Atwell
Draft Pick: S5 Round 1 Pick 8 by Otters
Career Record: 11-3
Career Interceptions: 1
Career Pass Defenses: 4
Career Tackles: 60
Trophy Case: S5 Ultimus Champion
TPE: 286
Oof. More bad sim luck? What is going on here. @timeconsumer did you let the sim into your beer? Well I guess not since Atwell and the Otters won the Ultimus going 11-3. But before all that Atwell went #11 in the DSFL draft in a super surprise pick! Just kidding. Atwell had to be picked since she was the GM player at the time. Atwell had a great DSFL season with 4 INT’s and 15 PD’s. Her performance put her on the radar of the Orange County Otters, first time Ultimus Champs at the time. So with the 8th pick overall the Orange County Otters selected… Tegan Atwell! “The Girl with all the Gif[t]s” (lots and lots of gifs, but no spicy ones sadly). However Atwell could not live up to her 1 year in the DSFL, putting up the exact same stats Fletcher with 1 INT and 4 PD’s. Although her tackles were different with 60 to Fletcher’s 84. Obviously not a great statline for her or any corner So like I said for Fletcher neither the Otters or Jiggly should be very nervous heading into Atwell’s sophomore season, especially since she is a very high TPE player.
Terrell Brister
Draft Pick: S5 Round 2 Pick 2 by Legion (GM Pick)
Career Record: 1-13
Career Interceptions: 4
Career Pass Defenses: 21
Career Tackles: 44
Trophy Case: S4 DSFL DROY, S5 NSFL DROY
TPE: 214
Yep, I slacked. I’m getting my PT’s done now and I have a 38 TPE update waiting, but I slacked. I am by far the lowest TPE player in this “big 4” of us corners from the S5 draft. Moving on. Brister was drafted to the Tijuana Luchadores with the 1st pick in the 3rd round. Him, Ryan Sierra, Isaac Brown and our amazing kicker god Dean Jackson led the Luchadores under the greatest GM of all time Loco. Brister had a great DSFL season finishing tied for 2nd in interceptions (most by a corner) just 1 below the legend Eddie Kim with 6. He was also tied for 3rd in PD’s with 14 with the aforementioned Tegan Atwell. He won the DSFL DROYBrister impressed many and could have been a first round pick, but a position in Las Vegas became available. He was offered the interim co-gm job by @bovovovo and he instantly took it. This potentially changed the draft board of all the GM’s, because he had to be the 2nd round GM pick. He had a great season for the Legion (now Second Line). He led the league in PD’s and also got 4 interceptions on his way to his 2nd DROY award (along with Ryan Sierra). The future is beginning to look very bright for the struggling Legion/Second Line defense with a lot of young talent.
