[div align=\\\"center\\\"]PORTLAND PYTHONS SEASON RECAP [/div]
[div align=\\\"left\\\"]I joined the Pythons around week 8 and since then we have went 5-3. I feel like I played a part in getting the Pythons to the point they were at. It wasn't been an easy path to the S6 playoffs for the Pythons, but I can tell you one thing were hot at home and we had home-field advantage for the entire playoffs. The Pythons were undefeated at home. Here is a recap of the season.[/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Preseason Game 1: Palm Beach Solar Bears 10 @ Portland Pythons 23[/div]
[div align=\\\"left\\\"]To start off the Pythons season you would've thought that the offense would've gotten the first score, but no. Early in the first quarter Strong Safety Samuel Watson got a 36 yard pick six. That was the only score for the Pythons or the Bears for the first quarter. Then early in the second quarter John Goose, who is no longer on the Pythons, broke a run of six yards and got a Touchdown. Then it was the defenses turn to shine and it was Doritos Garfunkel with a 58 yard pick six, but the Bears were not about to give up, they drove down the field and with 29 seconds left in the half they stalled at the 25 yards line and they kicked the 42 yard field goal. Then in the third quarter Defensive Tackle Cheetos Oates sacked Steve Fuller in the endzone for a safety! Then the bears with little to no hope left in the fourth quarter drove down the field Wide Receiver Terrelle Pryor caught a four yard touchdown pass from Quarterback Steve Fuller with 1:27 left in the game and failed on the onside kick so the Pythons ran out the clock. Palm Beach's Running Back Walter Payton got Offensive Player of the game with 24 attempts with 109 yards and 0 touchdowns and Portland's Linebacker Glennle Retro got Defensive Player of the game with 12 Tackles and 2 Sacks. [/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Preseason Game 2: San Antonio Marshals 13 @ Portland Pythons 27[/div]
[div align=\\\"left\\\"]To start off the game the Pythons defense got the first score of the game with a 44 yard pick six by Free Safety Zed Richter got a 44 yard pick six and that was all the scoring for the first half and Right after the first quarter Quarterback Jameis Christ slipped up and threw a 28 yard pick six to Cornerback Rafael Reyes. We have a tied game. Then about half way through out the second quarter Kicker Jimmy Darkapple kicked a 44 yard field goal to put the Marshals ahead of the Pythons. This was the first time the Pythons were behind this season. The Pythons didn’t answer back until the third quarter when kicker Stephon Simpson kicked a 44 yard field to tie the game. The Marshals not stunned by this field goal drove to the 8 yard line and stalled there kicked a 25 yard field goal to bring them ahead. Then when all hope was lost for the Pythons, they drove down the field to the 10 yard line and kicked a 27 yard field goal. The Marshal’s offense stalled and punted the ball and then the young hot shot Cole McCoy dropped an 18 yard touch down pass the the Tight End Emerald Wednesday. Then the defense stepped up their game and the offense turned the ball over on downs at the Marshals’ 6 yard line and Running Back Shawn Ariel sealed the game with a 6 yard touchdown run. Portland's' running back Shawn Ariel got Offensive player of the Game with 16 attempts for 85 yards and a Touchdown. The Marshals' Linebacker got Defensive Player of the Game with 13 Tackles and 2 Sacks[/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Preseason Game 3: Tijuana Luchadores 3 @ Portland Pythons 19[/div]
[div align=\\\"left\\\"]On the Luchadores first drive of the game they a 3 and out .On the Pythons' first drive of the game the Pythons' Quaterback Cole McCoy lobbed a 1 yard touchdown pass to Tight End Emerald Wednesday, but thier kicker missed the extra point. Then the defense again held the Luchadores to another 3 and out and it was Runningback Shawn Ariel with a 5 yard touchdown run to make it a two score game for the Luchadores. Then the Luchadores defense stepped up their game a held the Pythons off until the second quarter when Pythons' Kicker Stephon Simpson kicked a 39 yard field goal. Then the Luchadores had another three and out and gave then Pythons the ball back with 5:07 left in the half and the Pythons kicked a 25 yard field goal with 0:16 left in the half and tried to get a touchdown before the half but with two dropped passes they went to the locker rooms scoreless and beat up. The third quarter they exchanged punts, and with a little under 8 minutes left in the game the Luchadores kicked a 47 yard field goal. The momentum could've shifted a little from the field goal but no much because that was it for scoring in the game. Portland's running back Shawn Ariel got Offensive Player of the Game with 18 attempts for 104 yards and a Touchdown. Portland's Free Safety Zed Richter got Defensive Player of the Game with 5 Tackles, a Sack, along with a Interception.[/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Preseason Game 4: Kansas City Coyotes 14 @ Portland Pythons 19[/div]
[div align=\\\"left\\\"]The Pythons and Coyotes both started out with 3 and outs. After the Coyotes punted the ball a second it was a solid running game by Ariel and Gore that put the Pythons kicker, Stephon Simpson, in range for a 34 yard field goal. The Pythons were not done yet though, cause with 2:27 left in the first quarter they sent out kicker Simpson to knock out a 44 yarder this and he was successful again. Then in the second quarter they send him out once more. This time to kick a 47 yard field goal, which he makes. Then with 0:47 left in the half they send him out to kick them to a 12 point lead, he kicks the 44 yarder and makes it. It is starting to look like the Pythons kicker will be their only scorer. That would've been correct but then the Coyotes' defense slipped up and that is when Jameis Christ finds Nate Atasuke for a 14 yard touchdown pass. Then it would be all Coyotes form here on out. Early in the fourth quarter they hand the ball off to Marcus Robinson who runs the ball 14 yards to the touchdown. Then half way through the fourth the Coyotes' Mark Strike finds Tor Tuck Jr. for a 10 yard touchdown pass. It is starting to become a game and with 0:51 the Pythons send out Simpson to try the 40 yard field goal and he misses it. The field goal would've put them up by 8. Then the Coyotes send out Mark Strike to try to get the win. his first pass is incomplete and his next pass is... INTERCEPTED by E. Winter and with 22 seconds left the Pythons run the clock out. Pythons' kicker Stephon Simpson got Offensive Player of the Game with a extra point and went 4/5 on field goals. There was no Defensive Player of the Game, but I'm going to name Thomas Kane III, Linebacker, of the Kansas City Coyotes who had 15 tackles and one tackle for loss[/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Week 1:Norfolk Seawolves 3 @ Portland Pythons 24[/div]
[div align=\\\"left\\\"]To start off the Pythons season at first it did no look promising for both team. The Seawolves started off their season with a 3 and out,
so did the Pythons and with 2:24 left in the first quarter the Seawolves were able to intercept the young hot shot Cole McCoy on third down. They returned it 9 yards to the 33 yards line and after a 9 yards catch and a run for 0 they sent out David Marcillo who kicked the 41 yard field goal. This was just what the Pythons Offense needed because, on the first offensive play, as the clock hit 0:00 for the first quarter Shawn Ariel was running the ball into the endzone after a 66 yard run. After that the second quarter they exchange punt, but their offense could not get anything going.
Then it was the Seawolves turn to mess up and mess up they did, Seawolves Quaterback Carson Palmer dropped back on second down and threw the ball to Zed Richter, a Free Safety for the Pythons, who ran it back for a 28 yard pick six. After a series of runs, Pythons runningback Shawn Ariel ran the ball for a 1 yard touchdown. Early in fourth quarter the Pythons offense stalled at the 2 yard line and were forced to kick the 19 yar fiel goal.[/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Week 2:Portland Pythons 26 @ Norfolk Seawolves 3[/div]
[div align=\\\"left\\\"]The Seawolves coming off of their lose to the Pythons earlier come out hot then stall at the 14 yard line and kicked the 31 yard field goal to put them ahead of the Pythons. Then the Seawolves got the ball back after the punt and on first down they threw a pick to Cornerback Schroeder and that put the Pythons within striking range of the endzone they didn't quite make it to the endzone but they got to the 11 then got sacked and were forced to kick a 35 yard field goal. Next it was the Pythons again to put the next score on the board and that was a short pass of 2 yards from Jameis Christ to Rakim Uchiha for the touchdown. That would be it for the first quarter, the right before the two minute warning Pythons runningback Shawn Ariel ran the ball for a 12 yard run to make this a two score game. That would be it for the second half and then towards the end of the third quarter the Pythons sent out their Kicker, Stephon Simpson, to kick a 24 yard field goal and it was good. Then it was a series of field goals, a 18 yarder and a 23 yarder, to get them to the Pythons to 26. Pythons' runningback Shawn Ariel got Offensive Player of the Game with 19 attempts for 106 yds and a touchdown. Pythons' Linebacker Glennie Retro got Defensive Player of the Game with 5 Tackles, 2 Sacks, and a interception.[/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Week 3: Palm Beach Solar Bears 10 @ Portland Pythons 24[/div]
To start out the game Solar Bears got ball and on their first drive threw a pick to
Conerback Doritos Garfunkel and 4 plays later Borro Gore ran the ball 10 yards for the touchdown. The next drive the Bears got into field goal range but a sack on 3rd down put them out of field goal range for Kevin Butler. Then the Pythons answered back with a 7 minute drive that started in the middle of the 1st quarter and continued into the 2nd quarter. The drive ended with a 5 yard touchdown run by Borro Gore. Then the Bears started to drive the ball and when they got around mid field and a too many men on the field penalty didn't help them much and had to punt. The Bears Defense must've stepped up their game because they held the Pythons to a 45 Yard field goal by Stephon Simpson. That would be it for scoring in the first half. The Pythons received the ball at the beginning of the 3rd quarter and drove down the field and then they ended up sending out Stephon Simpson who missed a 43 yard field goal. Then in the 4rd quarter, after a series of punts QB Cole McCoy connects with WR Granit Lewis for a 4 yd
touchdown pass. Then about half way through the 4th the Bears sent out Kicker Kevin Butler for the 52 yard field and it is... GOOD. The Bears are finally on the board! The Bears defense stopped the Pythons, the Bears went on a long drive that was capped off by a Matt Sanders of 9 yards that resulted in a touchdown. With 1:00 on the clock the Bears tried a onside kick that was picked up by Pythons FS Clearwater. Borro Gore got Offensive Player of the game with 23 attempts for 119 yards and a pair of Touchdowns. Vernon Collins, a defensive end for the Pythons, won Defensive Player of the Game with 5 Tackles and a Sack.
