Fire-Bred, founder of Play by Plays weekly, will be breaking down the over time thriller that happened in Arizona on Monday night,
Quarter 1:
Outlaws Scoring Drive 1: Plays: 16 | Time taken off the clock: 7:01 | Yards: 80
After a three and out for the Outlaws King Bronko and the Outlaws offense comes out to the field for the first time. They start off the season with a run, are they going to run a little more this year? Well anyways Omar Wright, the 49th overall pick in the S1 draft, got the ball and ran it up the middle and got stopped after a gain of one by the hot shot safety Jaylon Broxton. Then Reg Mackworthy got the ball and took it off the left side and got seven yards before getting ran down by safety Dominic Verns. Jaylon Broxton a facemask penalty on the next play when he was covering Fresh Booter and Booter cut to the right and Broxton stuck out his hand and hooked his facemask. Then on the next play King Bronko dropped back in the pocket and every receiver was covered very good so he threw the check down to Omar Wright, but Wright must’ve been thinking more about the run and not the catch because he dropped the pass that was right in the numbers. Then on 2nd and ten Bronko dropped back again and this time Reg was in the backfield and again every receiver was covered great so he needed to throw the check down again, but this time instead of Omar being there it was Reg Mackworthy and he caught it and made Terrel Brister miss him at the forty-one, would’ve been a two yard loss, and he kept running for nine more yards before he got hit by Blackford Oakes and dragged Oakes one more yard before getting tackled. Reg getting reward for his amazing effort with that catch and run. Got the ball on first and ten and this time he was not breaking any tackles and got one yard before Linebacker Brian Mills lit up the “old” runningback. Then on 2nd and nine Reg got the ball again and got five yards before Julian O'Sullivan pushed the runningback out of bounds. Then on 3rd and 4, Reg got the ball again and got tackled after a gain of 2. You might say how is this a scoring drive, because 4-2=2 left to go. Yes but guess what the Outlaws decided that it was worth going for it on fourth down and guess what they did, they handed it off to Reg Mackworthy who got hit at the line by Brian Mills but Reg dragged Brian Mills three yards to get the first. In a post game conference Reg Mackworthy said when he asked about that play “if that was first down he probably would’ve went down instead of dragging the very good and also very HEAVY linebacker!” Now reg was really tired after getting the ball five plays in a row so he went the sideline. The next play they sent out was a play action boot leg pass. It was executed perfectly and Bronko was able to find Fresh Booter for his first pass caught by a wide receiver today and it was for six yards before he was tackled by Jaylon Broxton when he tried hurdling the safety to get more for the team. The next play called out was another pass and when Bronko dropped back he was looking to the pocket literally collapsed on him and some how he got in front of the line and threw a tight spiral to Cooper Christmas who was on a three yard hitch route. He juked out the hot safety Broxton and got eleven yards total before getting ran down by the corner Samuel Zhang but it was called back because of a illegal use of hands penalty on Robotman. The next play was another play action pass and Christmas burnt the corner Terrel Brister and caught the ball at the nineteen and got fifteen more yards (twenty-five in total) before Zhang caught him again. Then Reg got the ball again and they tried a sweep but Brian Mills stopped them after a one yard gain. The next play was a nice short pass to Cooper but Oakes jump the ball and had it in his hands for a millisecond and then dropped it. The next play the defense was playing pass because if you pass on 2nd you will normally pass on third but no Reg got the ball and dove across the goaline for the first touchdown of the game.
Quarter 2:
Second Line Scoring Drive 1: Plays: 9 | Time taken off the clock: 4:09 | Yards: 88
After a three and out for the Second Line, but then the Second Line stopped the Outlaws at the Outlaws’ 42. Then the Second Line received the punt at the twelve. Then on 1st and ten the Second Line did something they had done only once that night and that was hand the ball off to the runningback Ardie Savea and he actually got the same result and that was a 4 yard gain, but he was tackled by Safety Allen Davis and this time he got ran down by linebacker Wallace Stone, who missed the shifty, underestimated runningback. Then they handed the ball off again this time it was a sweep by Savea instead of a dive and he got three yards before he got tackled by Harrif Ernston. Then on 3rd and three Maximus dropped back and pump faked to Dustin Evans and that opened up receiver Charlie Law, so Maximus shifted his body and made a beautiful 4 yard pass to Law who ran three more yards before Darren Morris caught up and made a shoe string tackle. Then on 1st and ten again they handed the ball off to Savea and this time he only got three yards running it up the gut before AC Hackett tackled him. Then they switched the backs in the backfield but they didn’t switch the play. This time it was Conall O'Sullivan getting the ball and running it up the middle, but he got nine yards before he got tackled by the Safety Jogn Floggity. This was the longest run of the day so far. Then on 1st and ten Maximus Dropped back and found Charlie Law with an eleven yard touch pass and La got nowhere before he got tackled by Darren Morris. Then on 1st and ten they went with a play action pass and the defense did not bite on the play action and covered all of the receivers except one and that was runningback Ardie Savea, so Maximus threw it to him and he got 9 yards before Floggity tackled the runningback. At the start of the second quarter the Second Line got another jump start with Dean Evans catching a five yard pass from Maximus and got thirty-four yard pass before getting caught by Allen Davis. Is it too late to withdrawal my bet against the Seondline !?! Then on 1st and goal Maximus handed it off to Ardie Savea who dove over the offensive line for a three yard gain and a touchdown.
Outlaws Scoring Drive 2: Plays: 7 | Time taken off the clock: 3:59 | Yards: 85
After the Second Line scored the Outlaws must not have gotten a little frightened that maybe the Second Line could actually beat them, because right after the kick off they opened up with a run by Omar Wright which got seven yards before he got tackled by Julian O’Sullivan. Then on 2nd and three King Bronko dropped back and found Fresh Booter for a ten yard pass and Jaylon Broxton, the fifth overall pick in the S6 NSFL draft. Jaylon Broxton was origanally known as Poopyface Tomatonose and played tight end. Jaylon switched to Safety this offseason. Then on 1st and ten they ran it again with Omar Wright who got six before getting tackled by Brian Mills, the first overall pick in the S6 NSFL draft. Then on 2nd and 4 Bronko dropped back to throw the ball and when he started to release the ball he got hit by Brian Mils and the pass wobbled over C.A. Chess’ head and was nearly picked off by Jaylon Broxton but the former tight end must’ve lost his amazing catching ability because he just straight up dropped the ball. Then on 3rd and four I was expecting to see a run by Reg Macworthy but no they called the same play as before and this time Bronko was not hit on the release and he found C.A. Chess this time with a fifteenth yard pass and he got ten more yards before Terrel Brister caught up and tackled the ball carrier. Then on 1st and ten the ciaches must’ve thought 1.) that Bronko was hot, 2.) That the defense was ready for the run, 3.) Both! because they went for the pass and Bronko got blitzed hard off the right side so he scrambled to the left right into Joseph Atkins loving arms for a six yard sack. Then on 2nd and sixteen Bronko was looking to redeem himself and that he did he found Reg Mackworthy with a bubble screen and Reg did the rest he stiff armed Terrel Brister, then he hurdled Brian Mills, and juked out Broxton and took it to the house for a forty-two yard bubble screen which is something you don’t see everyday!
Second Line Scoring Drive 2: Plays: Kickoff | Time taken off the clock: 0:26 | Yards: 93
The speedy safety Blackford Oakes showed off a bit of his speed and a lot of his elusiveness with a ninety-three yard kick six. Here is how it happen. Kicker Dean Jackson lined up for the kickoff and it falls short of the goaline and Blackford was there he starts to run up the middle he cuts to the right of the field and starts to get going but AC Hackett and Alex Hayden are there so he cuts to the left of the field. Now he is in a footraces with the speedy receiver Budda Browning but Oakes is able to out run the receiver and flips into the touchdown. It looks like all of those wind sprints in practice are starting to pay off.
Outlaws Scoring Drive 3: Plays: 6 | Time taken off the clock: 2:56 | Yards: 64
After Bubba Browning tried to do what Oakes did, (ended up with a thirty-six yard return) Bronko and company trotted out on to the field to try to score again. They started off by handing it off to the very good runningback Reg Mackworthy who got sixteen yards before Samuel Zhang caught him and rushed him out of bounds. Then on 1st and ten they handed it off to Omar Wright who got four yards before Julian O’Sullivan dropped the runningback. Then on 2nd and six Macworthy got the ball again and got one yard before Adamle Tomlinson, former Otters 12th overall pick in the S1 NSFL draft. Then on 3rd and five Bronko dropped back to pass and saw that Bubba Browning was wide open so he riffled the ball to him and Bubba missed the ball and it bounced off his visor and fell to the ground. That is two big plays that he has given up. But on 4th down they decided to go for it and that is when Bronko found Browning with a forty-one yard bomb and Samuel Zhang was able to track him down at the one yard line. Reg, loving all of these goaline situations, got the ball and dove across the goaline to score once more.
Second Line Scoring Drive 3: Plays: 16 | Time taken off the clock: 5:32 | Yards: 84
On 1st and ten Maximus dropped back for a pass and he saw Charlie Law open across the middle and he lobbed it up to him and when he got his hands on the ball Safety Darren Morris hit the receiver and the ball fell to the ground. It was a perfectly legal hit by the way. Then on 2nd and ten they handed the ball off to Ardie Savea who got ten yards up the middle before Allen Davis stopped the runningback with an amazing open field tackle. Then on 1st and teen they handed it off and this time he went off the left tackle and got four yards before AC hackett stopped him. Then they handed the ball off to Savea and he got one yard up the middle before Mark Ramrio, the 14th Overall pick in the S1 NSFL draft and former Yellowknife Wraith, stopped the now very tired runningback. Then on 3rd and five Maximus got the chance to pass again and this time he saw Kenny Omega open but he noticed that Jack Dwyer was trying to bait him so he went to the doube covered J.J. Reigns with a nice high floater and Reigns went up for the ball and caught the ball and barely stay in bounds. He was pushed out of bounds by Wallace Stone. Then on 1st and ten they went back to Reigns who got a three yard gain and got tackled by Wallace Stone. Then and 2nd and seven they went with a run up the middle with Ardie Savea and he got six yards before Harrif Ernston tackled him. Then Maximus riffled a pass to Law for a 6 ard gain on 3rd and one. He was tackled by Darren Morris. Then they handed it off to Savea who got 9 yards before Ernston tackled him. Then Maximus dropped back to pass and tried to hit up Evans but Darren Morris pushed the ball out at the last second. Then on 3rd and one Savea ran it to the left and got 3 yards before Jack Dwyer tackled the shifty runningback. Then on 1st and ten they went with the pass and it ened up being a 8 yard catch and run by Dustin Evans off of aa screen pass. He was tackled by cornerback and former Yeti and the 27th Overall pick in the S1 draft Alex Hayden.
Outlaws Scoring Drive 4: Plays: 11 | Time taken off the clock: 4:17 | Yards: 80
After the Outlaws defense stopped the Second Line's offense Bronko came back out on to the field and the coach called a passing play and he thought he had Budda Browning open but he under threw the receiver I can not say if it was on the receiver or the quarterback but it seemed to be on the quarterback.
