Oles has not had any big changes in his life that warrants a move. Well, ok, I guess there is one, he had to make a place in his trophy case for his Ultimus victory. Holding various trophies growing up, souvenirs and other things acquired while on the path to the NSFL, the trophy case was full of various items. Now, it includes the NSFL Championship trophy, the Ultimus trophy. While this might seem cocky to talk about, it is a humbling experience, most players won’t experience this in their career, and when Oles originally came into the league as a CB, the Liberty talked and talked about what this day would be like. It was nothing like the locker room would say it was, after a struggling QB leads to the team’s shutdown corner to be thrust into the QB position, able to adjust due to his baseball background and already having the skills needed to read defenses, and WRs, Oles had a tough path here. Being able to have this trophy and really had proof of it all working is a relief, as it was a path that seemed like it would never work at times. (198 words)

This isn't the first time I have had to move, it was a big move for me to college. I was moving from Louisiana to west point, I was a southern boy and not yet much of a military man. After college I had become a more mature man but with the same short temper and mouth. Going into the draft I hadn't honestly thought much about the fact that I would have to move again. I was just so overwhelmed with the whole experience, watching the draft and getting the call hearing your name called is just amazing. it wasn't until after the draft that I thought about having to move all the way to Oregon, I had never gone further west than where I grew up I was always in the east. it was a big move, but I knew that it was for football so I had to do it. now that I am out here and through the first couple weeks of the season I have already fallen in love with this place and the people on my team, they are my second family. I know eventually I will have to move again and I hope its as successful as this move was.

I have one of the most unique moving stories in my opinion. After playing college football at local UAB, I have to go to Tijuana, Mexico to continue my football career. After returning home from school, my mom helped me pack, despite me telling her not to worry. It took the first half of the day to get everything I wanted together, and I then spent the night at my parent's place. Today, I woke up at 4:00 to head to the airport to catch my 7:00 flight. There was certainly some extra security considering I'm currently headed to another country. Thankfully, I've worked some things out with some fellow players, who currently have an apartment for everyone when they first arrive in Tijuana. I'm really excited to finally land and experience this place that I'll be calling home (hopefully for only a little while).

You would think that growing up in a constant state of flux between the United States and Tokyo would have constituted the biggest shift for me as far as trying to find a new place to feel comfortable. But since it was what I knew from a pretty early age, it never challenged me all that much. The biggest culture shock of my life was, instead, moving to Morgantown, West Virginia, to go to college.

By the time I got to college, I had lived in a fair number of places on both sides of the world. I never felt too distrupted in my childhood, as my parents were pretty stable. My father just had a bit of wanderlust and liked to move around a lot. But most of the places I had been were on the larger, more urban side. Morgantown was a harsh departure from this pattern. It’s a tiny little town when school is out, and it explodes with activity when the 30,000+ students arrive each fall. It is the very definition of a college town. It was a great experience, but certainly a new and weird one.

There is currently a huge opportunity for current DSFL free agent Andreas Metaxas, a 6'2", 220 pound mobile quarterback from the University of Southern California. Originally from Volos, Greece, Metaxas played an integral three years for the Trojans' offense, recording a 33 touchdowns, a 68.9 PCT, and a total of 3,951 passing yards. After these three years playing for the USC Trojans, Metaxas has declared for the S9 DSFL Draft and is one of the many hopeful young players who aspire to make it to the NSFL. Right now however, Metaxas' goal is to make the jump to the DSFL and make a name for himself in the professional football world. With the need for actively mobile quarterbacks who can make extremely smart decisions while being able to properly throw a football, Metaxas has actively reached out to NSFL alumni to help him improve his skills, notably former QB/WR hybrid Gosh Jarden, infamously known as Ethan Hunt.

This opportunity to make it to the DSFL, and potentially the NSFL, is too big for Metaxas to pass up.

I gotta say, I never expected to be playing American Football in another country, but here we are. South of the border. In Mexico. Wow. First of all, Tijuana is beautiful. Could it be a bit colder? Sure. But in my short time here as a Luchadore, I love the atmosphere in the city. The Mexican culture is so envigorating. The food is delicious, the music is soothing, and everything about Tijuana is just so outstanding. Being out here right on the Pacific Coast is so much different than Corpus Christi, which was an industrial town on the Gulf, and even Columbia, an inland metro city. For starters, I highly doubt you'd be able to find a truly outstanding mariachi band in Columbia, just as you wouldn't find top-notch quesadillas in Corpus Christi. Those things make Tijuana unique. While I still love many things about Corpus Christi, such as Whataburger, the smell of mills, and the Hooks, it really is inferior to the beauty that exists in Tijuana. Columbia also has many fun things. From late nights in Russell House, to Sunday afternoons in the Vista, to almost dying at Five Points, the Soda City truly gave me the time of my life. Yet again, it is nothing in comparison to living south of the border.

Well, it would be silyl to ignore the obvious change in Will’s life, which came with an extra set of changes. He was drafted and started his career with the New Orleans Second Line. That’s a new team, a new city and a new league. On top of all that, the team decided very quickly to move him from FS to SS.
Will is a real pro when it comes to football, though, so the latter was his primary concern. FS was a lot of running and covering, and while SS would have plenty of that, as well, he knew it also meant a lot more responsibility in run support, and a lot less time spent covering a deep zone, and a lot more covering big tight ends. That was going to be a big adjustment. It would take a lot of film time and drilling.
But, when you’re in the simulated pros, that’s what it takes.

Being a recent draftee into the DSFL has had lots of moves for me this past few weeks and plenty of changes to come. Hailing from Florida I didn't have to go super far to get to Tijuana. At least I'm used to the heat down here. That being said, the change has still been weird for me. I went to college on the north end of my state and one quick plane ride got me home but now I'm traveling every week with new teammates. The opportunity is nice though as I've went to Tijuana. I'm coming in 2nd on the depth chart and I've already made my name known in 2 games racking up some decent yardage. While I haven't scored yet I know my time will come and I hope to lead the Luchadores to a championship as soon as possible. This has also given me a new opportunity to meet new people around the league. The relationships I build can help or hurt me for many seasons to come and this is a crucial point in my career development.
