I have to make 2 graphics, which is easily 2+ hours just to get ONE week of training. I'm done lol.

I'm done lol.Your last two weekly submissions earned you $2.7 million and $2.0 million. You're got four, almost five weeks of training from two weeks of work. I'm not going to be able to crank them out like this, especially with my new job.

I think it's unfair to increase the money written media would give and leave graphics as it is, especially considering written is all about word count and not quality. For graphics, it's judged on how much the grader likes what you made, not anything quantifiable. We get 750k only if the grader gives us a perfect mark, or if he is feeling generous. Also, we are limited to 4 graphics per week, whereas you can just write as many articles as you want, no matter how bad, and get paid based on the number of words. Like 701 said, a decent looking sig can take up to one hour to make, or more, and I'm personally not ready to use half-assed sigs as my weekly submissions just to save time. To me media and graphics aren't equal, and there isn't any reason to treat them as such. When you look at the effort taken to write a quality article vs the time it takes to create a quality graphic, I think media > graphics. However, it is infinitely easier to submit a shitty article and make the same pay, where you do not have that ability with graphics. So with that in mind I think it is important to have a graphics pay scale that actually pays out to the effort more than the quality. With a media piece it is a lot easier to see the effort, because with graphics effort may have been spent on the subtle details. So ya, the graphics either need to payout more or develop a bonus payout system similar to what is being added for media. tl;dr - Graphics don't deserve an increase because media got an increase. Graphics deserve an increase because the current system doesn't reward effort enough. (06-11-2017, 04:10 PM)enigmatic Wrote:Obviously none of us will talk against an increased pay. This. I was never a fan in SHL either how Graphics were on a grading scale when media isn't. While getting a 'grade' is helpful for constructive criticism I can see why this isn't fair. It takes me a solid hour to crank out a decent sig as well. Sometimes it all flows well and gets done quicker and other times it takes longer.

I don't know how you quantify effort anyway but I don't believe it should have that much to do with pay. You do something of quality, you get rewarded for it. "Graphics people" didn't get good overnight. It took a lot of work. We both agree that graphics should pay more so I won't argue with you more than that.
