The first half of the season has been extremely successful for both me and the the Orange County Otters. Currently as a team we are sitting at 7-1 and have been pretty dominant in a lot of our games as a whole. The team has been great on both sides of the ball and I do not expect that to change for the rest of the season. We should make playoffs with only a couple losses tops at the rate we are going and look to make noise once we are there. For my player I've been having what I believe to be an MVP season so far. While I am only 6th overall in rushing yards for all backs I am first overall in receiving yards for backs, total yards from scrimmage for backs, and touchdowns for all backs. I look to hopefully get a few big games and potentially break 2000 total yards this season and if I continue to get lucky maybe 20 touchdowns to go with it. Realistically though I will probably end up around 1800 yards and 17 touchdowns but one can dream. It would only take 1 monster game from me to get back on track for those lofty goals though and then I could average out a lot lower to get there.

Dick Wizardry isn't upset by the team's relative lack of success. He knew what he was getting drafted into. Dick doesn't believe in shitty catchphrases like "the process" but he does understand that a successful team is a work in progress. On a personal level, the season is going well, which of course just makes him more determined to do better the 2nd half of the season. That's why he had a film room built in his house. He's there for at least an hour every day, watching himself in the previous games and trying to spot his tendencies the way he knows defensive coordinators and players are. He's got a list of notes next to him detailing some of what he's seen so he can talk about it with his coaches. This season isn't going to end with a playoff berth, he knows, but that just means what he's doing is getting ready for next season. He shoots a quick text to Ryan Applehort about the playaction motion on a particular play against the Otters because he knows his QB is probably also watching film at home. Dick did steal the design for his film room from Applehort's room after all. Dick continues working.

Well, to be frank, it's been a pretty horrible season so far for the Yellowknife Wraiths. As always, I've always believed in this team, but we seem to be getting older at an alarming rate. No fault of management at all, they have clung on to the glory days of the Wraiths for as long as possible. Sadly, there's just no enough talent on the offense to carry the team. Now sadly, the Wraiths have also dropped some pretty rough games to some bad teams as well this season, and some times that is just how the football and sim gods work. For example, losing to a pretty bad Colorado Yeti team in Yellowknife was a pretty bad break. Like, how do we lose to the yeti by only one point at home. That just perfectly describes how poorly this year has gone. Our best offensive player, Ryan Applehort managed to put together a pretty poor day, throwing 3 picks to a depleted Yeti secondary. Applehort has put together great performances against the best teams in the league this year in games we lost, but then he laid an egg during a very winnable game. Just bad luck, and during a tough time in the team's history.

A little over halfway now, but regardless, Benson Harris is satisfied with his individual performance. After week 10 he leads the DSFL in tackles for loss, which is very nice to see. Sacks are a more attractive stat, but a tackle for a loss is just about as good. Harris feels as though he is strong enough and quick enough but needs to work on his technique to get to the quarterback a bit more often. Two sacks is fine, considering what he is being asked to do in the Marshal’s defense, which is to play the run first then rush the passer second.
As far as the team goes, he wishes his defensive unit were doing a bit more to help out the offense. The team is scoring plenty of points, with 234 so far on the season. The real issue is that the defense has allowed 206. Sure, that is a positive differential, but it hasn’t resulted in a winning record. The team is 3-1 at home, but only 1-5 on the road. Harris’ hope is that they can tighten up a few things defensively so that the team can go on a bit of a run in the second half. ??Soon??
"It's frustrating, it's frustrating." Zach Skinner grumbled, still in his morning attire, as he reached for a cup of coffee that his now-wife had made for him, "I'm in the best shape of my life, stronger than I've ever been," he took a sip. The caffeine's effect might not have been instant, but the heat was, shocking the nerves on his lips to life, "And we're one and seven. Not just that, but I still haven't been able to play at the level I've always wanted too," he glanced down at his massive hands, flexing them for a moment, "And honestly, I think my body's starting to feel the effects of this game."
It was true. There had always been aches and pains that came with the sport, sprained wrists that were so bad by the end of the season that he'd use half a roll of tape to support them, perpetual pain in at least one knee, soreness, bruises, but it was different now. He had suffered back pain before, but never to the extent that he had after last season, and it was only getting worse, to the point that he'd stopped squatting and dead lifting entirely. "Well," his spouse muttered, looking across the counter at him, "There's only so much one man can do, and you're doing everything your body is capable of doing." She tossed him the keys to the car, "Now hurry up and get dressed. We can't have you being late." It's been a whirlwind season so far for Raymond Vans. After being selected by the Arizona Outlaws 19th overall in the recent season 12 draft he returned to the Kansas City Coyotes in the DSFL. Acquired midway through S11 as a free agent this marks the first full season for the hulking linebacker. There were a few concerns going in to the regular season after finishing the pre-season with a miserable 0-4 record, but Vans and the Coyotes made quick work of reversing their fortune early in the season and sit with a tidy 5-2 record after week 7. Vans himself is leading the team in tackles and is second only to San Antonio's J. Gott in league wide tackles. Toss in a couple sacks and a few pass deflections and the sophomore linebacker out of Miami State is having a terrific start to the season. His performance in week 4 against the Palm Beach Solar Bears was particularly notable as he finished the game with 5 tackles, 1 sack and 1 interception. He hopes to continue his fine play in to the second half of season 12 in the DSFL and help elevate the Kansas City Coyotes to not only a post-season berth, but hopefully a trip to the finals.
