I just wanted to put in here some thoughts I was having about my term as HO and commissioner.
My beloved Raven stepped down from HO yesterday. Before this, he was the second longest tenured HO member, after being hired on December 11th, 2018. The new longest tenured HO member is now manicmav36, hired January 17th, 2019.
To put that into perspective, I was made commissioner on August 23rd, 2018. On top of that, I was made an HO member on January 9th, 2018. This is pretty crazy to me when I think about it, that I have been around a year longer than even the second most experienced HO member now. Hell, our newest member of HO creatd his account March 4th 2019! To go even further, This league opened up shop on May 23rd, 2017. I've been HO for well over half of the league's existence, and at this point im nearing the point of having been commissioner for half this league's existence, currently im "only" at 44%
Its definitely crazy how much turnover at the top there has been since I took over. its always sad to see guys leave. Interactions between former HO members always are different than when they were in office with you. Many guys who I used to talk to a lot, even a guy who I did a podcast with a few times, have gone inactive. as HO, the relationships you have with users is just so different from when you're a sim league "civilian", or even a GM (especially the sexual ones). A lot of it goes to business, and can be volatile. I came into office always hoping to bring a shot of fun into the position, a memey relatability and no fear of joking, and its definitely hard to keep that up as time goes by. I am happy to do the job that I do, but it aint always easy
But yeah, anyways, tl;dr, holy fuck ive been in HO a long ass time, someone rescue me plz
