“Hello and welcome back to the NSFL Channel, I’m your host John Narrator and welcome to Path Of The Draft Episode 2. Thank you for the support on the pilot episode and another thank you to LowlyCrib for allowing me to use his player likeness for this Media Piece”
————————————————————————————————————————
Early Life:
(Narrator) “The date is June 26th 2009 and in the capital city of Canada, it may seem like an ordinary day to most people. Some may have been wondering who was gonna fill the spot in the Canadian Supreme Court. But Janelle and Demar Brackenridge were both experiencing the most important part of life, birth. That day was the start of a great life for Tyron Brackenridge. Living in Canada, Tyron was highly encouraged by his peers to start a career in hockey and for his life through age 6-10 played pee wee hockey for the “North Ottawa Otters”.”
(D.Brackenridge) “As a United States native, I was born to play football. So of course I wanted my sons to play it and continue the legacy. But when I met my darling Wife on a trip to Canada I knew I had to stay”
(Narrator) “When Tyron was age 13 his dad was offered a job to coach football at St Matthews Catholic High School and changed him and his sons lives forever. Tyron being the younger brother of 2 always followed his big bros footsteps.”
(D.Brackenridge) “The main reason I took the job is so I had a place for my kids to play, Tyron wasn’t please to move to have to go to the only high school in Ottawa without a Hockey team. But once his brother was on board, he was on board”
——————————————————————————————————————
High School Career:
(Narrator) “At age 14, Tyron would join his schools Junior High Football Team as a rookie player. Tyron’s main skill in Hockey was his speed so of course he would try out for where speed mattered most, Running Back. After a year of getting medium reps and fumbling the ball semi often it was shown that just because Tyron could run fast, doesn’t mean he’s meant for being a running back”
(D.Brackenridge) “I remember my son coming home after his last game and saying that he wasn’t meant to play football because he wasn’t a good running back. Being the coach that I am I told him he will either find a different position to play or stick to Running Back”
(Narrator) “And Tyron did just what his dad said he should do and made the switch to defense for his Freshman year of football. Tyron would already be the Captain of the defense going into his first Friday night matchup as a Linebacker. Tyron didn’t always have the best stats but could he be a leader on the field. Within his senior season with the St. Matthew Tigers he posted 104 tackles, 6 forced fumbles, 2 interceptions, and 3 sacks and was named to the National all High School Team. Tyron received many Scholarships all over Canada but looking for a future in football, he picked the only American team, the University of Maryland.”
(Tyron) “My brother took a scholarship to the University of Indiana in the Big 10, so you know that when the only American college that gave me an offer is ALSO in the Big 10 you know I had to accept that offer”
——————————————————————————————————————
College Career:
(Narrator) “Tyron attended the university for 3 years before declaring for the DSFL draft. He was recruited to be a Line Backer but due to some roster issues was moved to Free Safety and started nearly instantly in week 1 against North Western. Where he had 1 INT and 1 Forced Fumble in their 45-12 victory.”
(Tyron) “Yeah sure Line Backer was great and all but now I got to not only Blitz and do Man to Man, but now I also got to do some deep zone and lock down receivers whenever they would try sneaking a 4 verticals”
(Narrator) “In the 5th week of the season Tyron would dislocate his Elbow while playing against Ohio State after attempting to stop a last play Hail Mary to tie the game. Tyron finished the season with 52 Total Tackles, 2 INTs, 2 Forced Fumbles, and 1 Pass Defensed throughout his rookie year and was named to the 1st Freshman Big 10 Team. And the 2nd Freshman NCAA Team.”
(Tyron) “I swear when I’d listen to the opponents huddle you could sometimes hear “sh*t you want me to get blocked by Brackenridge” and lemme tell you that’s how you get fired up for a play”
(Narrator) “After finishing his Sophomore year with even greater stats, Maryland had made it to the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl ranked number 23 against Boise State. Sadly for Brackenridge he would lose out with a final score of 23-28.”
(Tyron) “Losing any game can be tough. But losing a Bowl Game, Championship game whatever it is sucks more than anything you can imagine. That bus ride home was the most silent I’ve ever heard a vehicle with more than 50 people on ever”
(Narrator) “Alas things would look up for Brackenridge and the Terrapins as they would win 10 straight games going into the teams first ever Big 10 Championship game against Wisconsin where they would win with an absolutely amazing 52-7. Brackenridges Junior year would also be his best year statistically with 63 tackles, 4 INTs, 5 Fumbles Forced, and 14 Passes Defended. It would be enough to get him on the NCAA 1st All American Team”
(Tyron) ”At that time I already had professional scouts contacting me about my future, and I knew at that time. That my last game ever as a college athlete would be in the Cotton Bowl.”
(Narrator) “For his final ride Brackenridge pulled out his best game yet with 8 Tackles, 2 INTs, and 1 Touchdown, it would be enough to give him Cotton Bowl MVP and during his speech in the celebration Tyron Brackenridge would declare for the DSFL draft”
——————————————————————————————————————
Life Before The Draft
(Tyron) “I loved my teammates, coaches, trainers, you name it. But I knew that if I wanted a chance in the big leagues that I would need to declare for the DSFL draft. It’s a league for the best of the best and you have to be invited to it. It’s something you can’t mess up if you have the chance”
(Narrator) “Almost a month before the DSFL draft, the San Antonio Marshals picked up Brackenridge off of waivers along with DT Brayden Ennis, LB Ronald Watkins, and CB Willie Woodson for training and practice to get players ready for their rookie season”
(Tyron) “Being with the Marshals was definitely a great experience but I knew from the start that my DSFL career wouldn’t be with them and what would I know that a month later I was right”
(Narrator) “On June 1st 2029 the Kansas City Coyotes were on the clock with the 8th overall pick of the draft. No one knew exactly who they were gonna pick except them. And with their pick they picked up Free Safety Tyron Brackenridge our of Maryland to start on the defense. And from now on the only thing that will be seen, is if Brackenridge will prove he is worth the hype and make a career in the NSFL”
