Varga had .6 YPC over Helanen and caught 47% of the team's passing TDs, whereas Helanen caught 41%. He shouldn't be punished for having an awesome season on a bad team. For being the 2nd or 3rd option and STILL putting up equal/better numbers? 6% difference in team passing TDs is such a weird and out of left field stat lol Edit: I'm dumb and can't read (11-28-2019, 01:16 PM)shadyshoelace Wrote:So Helanen should be punished for having good teammates? Helanen was on a team that threw more passes (576 vs 498) for more yards (4398 vs 3248) more efficiently (7.6 YPA vs 6.5 YPA) more consistently (59% vs 53%) with better results (31 TDs vs 21 TDs) and a higher rating (91.5 vs 77.3). I just don't see how Helanen had any sort of disadvantage.

The disadvantage is that he had another WR on the team soaking up 1400 yards lol. He didn't get to be primary and still had equal/better numbers. Pro Bowl isn't MVP, it's who had the best season. But I'll play along: Bishop was more efficient and more important to his team. Varga was on a team that threw more passes (498 vs 461) for more yards (3248 vs 2794) more efficiently (6.5 YPA vs 6.1 YPA) equally consistently (53.8% vs 54%) with better results (21 TDs vs 18 TDs) and a roughly equal rating (77.3 vs 78.1). Bishop had 1.6 YPC over Varga and caught 38% of the team's yards and 50% of the team's passing TDs, whereas Varga caught 35% and 47%, respectively. He shouldn't be punished for having an awesome season on a bad team. |
