I’ll say it right here and right now, Frost and Cory better get some damn good recognition for GMs of The Year. Yes they may be coming off seasons where they had already won the prestigious award, yes there is another team in their division that made the playoffs in their first season as an expansion team which is impressive but Frost and Cory had a season in which their team went 12-2 after replacing the league’s MVP, losing their QB and only getting a handful of returnees (1 would be IA, the other was at 50 TPE). They hands down had the best draft in terms of TPE/pick and have also been instrumental in developing a safe and fun environment for rookies to spend time while they learn more about the game and improving on a week by week basis. The two have also had to deal with outside bullshit given by other alumni and have always defended their players, regularly going beyond protocol and although it’s something that will not show up on the stats pages or any leaderboards, it is something that means a lot to me as a player and says a lot about the culture/family they have been trying to build in Myrtle Beach, dating all the way back to Hall’s time as a GM. At the end of the day, I think the both of them are fantastic GMs and even better people and they better get some recognition for the GMoTY award or there will be riots
This is a pretty easy choice from my perspective but probably won’t gain much momentum since awards like this tend to be more about flashy stats than overall effectiveness. I am not saying , winning a championship doesn’t deserve accolades but I am say a General Manager can have an outstanding season without winning a championship, or in this case even making the playoffs. @Hallmonitor_20 had an outstanding general manager year for us over in Philadelphia. This guy ran the ship for almost an entire season on his own before adding the excellent co recently in TubbyTim69. Hall was instrumental in taking this team from veteran consistent playoff performer through a very quick and sharp rebuild phase and now we are on the verge of that elite status again. Disappointingly, we missed the playoffs this season but the maneuvering made by Hall was able to set us up nicely for the next 3 seasons. He was the number one reason league leading rusher, Sam Torenson, returned to Philadelphia despite not yet seeing the results he had hoped after signing his first free agent contract. He managed to usher out an all-time great quarterback in Adriana Falconi with extreme class. He then worked out a replacement from seemingly out of nowhere in Brock Phoenix. Then deftly moved, over sized strong as an ox former QB, Blocksdale to tight end, a move that proved to be ultra-beneficial for the running game with a young QB at the helm. I am excited to see what the next 3 seasons bring to Philly and though I am sure the rewards won’t head Hall’s way this season, they certainly are right around the corner.
Code: 233 words In my humble opinion, defensive tackle Bjorn Ironside should be a lock for the Pro Bowl this year, and should certainly be in the Defensive Lineman of the Year conversation. Season 19 was not especially good for Ironside: the Second Line went 8-5 to secure a playoff spot, but Bjorn finished the regular season with just 37 tackles and 7 sacks. His playoff numbers weren't much better, recording 6 tackles and a lone sack across New Orleans' two playoff games. But after an offseason spent looking in the mirror and adjusting his workouts, Ironside has emerged as one of the league's most dominant defensive linemen. At the conclusion of another winning season for New Orleans, Ironside has 59 tackles to his name, which is first among all defensive linemen. Additionally, he recorded 12 sacks, which is tied for second in the entire league. Only time will tell how he performs in the playoffs this time around, but I'd expect him to dominate the line the same way he has all season. If--and when--New Orleans finally wins the Ultimus, it will be in no small part because of Ironside's incredible efforts in the trenches. The Second Line squad has long recognized him as one of the best players in the NSFL. Maybe by winning Defensive Lineman of the Year will get the rest of the league to see him in the same way. There are two teammates for New Orleans that helped us immensely. First I would like to thank them for helping this team get to the playoffs this season.
First player is our Tight End, Austin McCormick deserves some award love. He led the team in receptions this season for New Orleans, with 68 on the year. I'd give him the mister consistent award since he showed up every single game doing whatever was asked of him. McCormick finished the season with 604 yards receiving and 3 Touchdowns on the year. Another player that deserves much love in New Orleans is Slothface. For whatever reason a lot of people pick on him saying he is bad and say "Slothfave please" trolling him, and even through all that hate he performed extremely well. Dude finished with 11 sacks and 86 tackles this season, and I do not hear them talking shit anymore. I am going to put he up for the comeback player award just because of all the bullshit he went through with the trolling. Either was they both were enormous for New Orleans this season and I think they'll also play vital roles in the playoffs this season. Time to give it all we got Secondline!
There's lots of love to go around in Chicago right now. We just came off absolutely crushing the Orange County Otters and the Austin Pooper Heads. I wish those two team put up more of a fight, but it's whatever. I'm glad we came away with two easy wins to close the season. So my first gift of love goes out to the whole team and to our opponents, for taking our Ls. I think secondly, I could give an award to Dan Schneider, my safety friend on the defence. It seems no matter how hard Mike Hockhertz tries, Schneider always ends up with more tackles, usually ranging from 12 - 13 tackles a game. The guy is crazy. Always in the right position. But the true MVP this year has been Sean O'Leary. Sophomore season over 1000 yards, fourth in the league in receiving. We all knew we would be a pass heavy team, but when a youngster like Sean O'Leary comes out and continually burns defences like that, it's game over. Can't wait for the rest of the seasons in Chicago to watch him grow into the bonafide #1 receiver in the league. I already knows he's the best in the league, the rest of you plebs need to wake up. 214
