Hello, Outlaw fans! I am super excited to get to play in the NSFL this upcoming season. Since I am new to the NSFL, the coaches asked me to watch the Draft and get to know my new teammates. I haven’t had a chance to talk to them yet since they just got drafted here, but I decided to do some research and learn more about them. And I then I decided to post it on social media because it seems like a good idea to post a lot of things on there. I can’t wait to meet the new players and I hope that they turn out to be as nice as the rest of the team. Hopefully, we can all be friends and win a lot of games together.
Pick #6: Stanis?aw Koniecpolski – LB
Stanislaw is a pretty good player, but I think he needs a nickname since his name is hard to pronounce for a lot of people. That’s what I did. Instead of calling me Maz-Ta, they nicknamed me “Baby” and now everyone loves to call me that. It will have to be something else, though, because “Baby” Koniecpolski doesn’t have the same ring to it. For now, I’ll call him Stanley. Anyway, Stanley is a good player. He got a lot of tackles, which I think will help stop the other team from scoring. And then we can get more chances for me to run the ball and get touchdowns, which is nice.
Pick #15: Heath Evans – TE
Heath has a much easier name to pronounce, so he won’t need a nickname, but we can still give one if he wants. The other players I talked to on the team were excited to get him here and they told me they think he’s the best Tight End in the DSFL. So, if they like him, I guess I like him, too. The only bad thing is he’s not the best at catching the ball, but I had trouble with that for a while, too, and I’ve been working on it in the offseason. So, maybe I can help teach him what I learned. Granted, he is a lot taller than me and can probably jump higher. I have to catch the ball close to the ground or I tend to drop it. But maybe my style will work for him, too. I’ll show it to him and see what he thinks.
Pick #16: Tyler Oles JR – CB
I was super excited to see that we got this player because his father was an NSFL player and I remember watching him on TV. Cornerbacks are good because they can help us catch the ball when the other team throws it. I told my coach that I could try to help catch the ball when they throw it since I’ve been working hard to get better at it, but he said I should they won’t let me play offense and defense. So, it’s a good thing we got Tyler. I’m also told he is very fast, which is always good. My teammate Saba always talks about how fast he is, so that must be super important.
Pick #28: Sandro Ryeu – DE
We are picking up a lot of defensive players. I am not sure if that is a good idea or not, but I’m sure it will still help us out. I remember playing against the Royals last season in the DSFL and, in one game, Sandro got 4 Tackles for Loss. I hate it when the other team gets Tackles for Loss against our Running Backs. It makes me want to force choke someone. But I’m also glad he will be on our team, so we don’t have to play against him. I had enough of that for a lifetime, which is saying something because people from Dagobah tend to live a long time.
Pick #30: Quinn Hughes – S
I also recognized Quinn from the Royals since they beat us twice last season. He is really good at getting takeaways like fumbles and interceptions. They call him a “playmaker”, which is good because, as a team, we make a lot of plays. They keep drafting guys for the defense, which will help us out since a lot of the defense was getting older and that’s bad. From what I read about him, Quinn is a really well-rounded player, which means he can play a lot of different roles on the teams. They tell me I’m good at playing different roles, too, so I guess that makes him the defense’s version of a Running Back.
Pick #39: Bruce Buckley – OL
Yay! An Offensive lineman! I’m really happy we drafted one, so he can help block for me. It gets really hard to run the ball when the Offensive Line isn’t doing a good job and the bigger defense guys can get to you really easily. So, hopefully, Bruce is good at his job and we can make a lot of big plays together. I’m told he is very strong, which is good because he will be going up against a lot of other strong guys on the defense and we need him to be as strong as they are.
Pick #40: Calvin Golladay – OL
This was really exciting because Calvin is our second Offensive Lineman picked up in a row. Everything that I said about Bruce applies, I guess, since they play the same position, but I noticed that Calvin is a lot taller. I’m not sure who the better player will be, but hopefully they can both became a big part of our team and we can all play together for a long time.
Pick #44: Thomas Passermann – WR
I don’t know a lot about this player, but I did hear he is very fast, which is a great thing for a receiver. Coach is always telling me I need to be fast if I want to line up on the outside and play more positions. I guess I won’t have to since we got Thomas, though, so that’s good. They always make me run a lot of laps, so since Thomas is so fast, maybe he can give me some tips to help me out if I ask him. I even hear some people enjoy running a lot, but I have hard time believing that. It’s fun during the games because the crowd gets to cheer you on, but I don’t have as much fun running the “laps” Coach makes us run during practice.
Pick #52: Claude Miller II – DT
At first, I got a little mad that we drafted a Defensive Tackle because they’re usually big and mean and scary and I hate playing against them, but then I remembered that I only have to play against him in practice if he’s on our team, so that’s good. Kind of like with Sandro, this gives us another player for the Defensive Line, which helps out our defense. I just hope he goes easy on me in practice. Remember we’re on the same team!
Pick #54: Zamir Kehla – CB
This is another Cornerback, which is really good because that’s an important position. Zamir will be able to play with Tyler Oles and our current Cornerback Scarlet. I think Zamir needs a cool nickname, though. Maybe I will call him “ZZ” like the band ZZ Top that I like. Though he doesn’t have a really long beard, so that might confuse for some people. I’ll have to think about it. One of the other players told me they were super happy we “fell” and that he ended up being a “steal” for us.
Pick #64: Slinky Claxton – DE
I love the name Slinky. That’s a great name to have. We sure are drafting a lot of defense players. But that’s probably good because so many of us will be young and can play together for a long time. I saw on YouTube that Slinky works out a lot in the gym, so maybe he can give me some tips since people are always saying I’m too small to play football. I’m sure we’ll be great friends once I get to meet him!
Pick #87: Jacoby Batista – RB
I was really excited to see that we finally picked another Running Back. I was looking forward to playing with Ruff Ruff, but then he got taken in the expansion draft by one of the new teams, which I thought was kind of mean since we have to play against him now. I remember Jacob had a really good season last year in the DSFL, so hopefully he can be a good player to help take over Ruff Ruff’s spot.
Pick #88: Taylor Cooper – WR
They tell me Taylor is a “Red Zone Threat”, which is like a really big Wide Receiver. And that makes sense because he’s really tall. We need more big guys that we can throw the ball to when we get really close to making a touchdown. I try to catch the ball when we get in the “Red Zone”, but it’s hard because everyone is so close together and it gets crowded. So, having more tall people is good for us.
Pick #100: Friedrich Vequain – WR
Unlike Taylor, Friedrich isn’t very tall, but he’s fast like Thomas, who also plays Wide Receiver. They tell me it’s a good idea to draft players with different “skill sets” and that it’s called “diversifying”. When I first signed an NSFL contract, my family put me in touch with a Stock advisor to help me with my money and he uses the word “diversify” a lot, so I guess it must be a good thing. Another cool thing is that Friedrich is born in Germany, who he’s lived in other countries like me. Maybe he can teach me about Germany and I can teach him about my home country, Dagobah.
Pick #112: Zed Keppler – RB
Yet another Running Back. I think this is really good. On the Ducks, we had a lot of different Running Backs, which kept everyone from getting tired. I hear that some Running Backs want to be a ball cow and prefer to play by themselves, but I like sharing the ball, especially if the other players are nice. Hopefully, Jacoby and Zed both turn out to be really nice and we can be a good group together.
That’s my all of our picks, I think. I want to say thank you to my teammates for helping me “proofread” and correct my spelling. They say I spell a lot of words funny, so thankfully, they were there to help me out. They also said that I tend to use the same words a lot and that I should get a “thesaurus”, which sounds like a dinosaur, but turned out just to be a book. I tried using the thesaurus a little with this post and it helped teach me new words, so I’ll do it again for new posts in the future. According to the thesaurus, it will help me sound impertinent with my writing. Thanks for reading!
