*Eric's Draft Day

Eric Richards does some breathing exercises as he tries to calm his nerves before the all important DSFL draft. He was traveling in a league appointed car to the meeting place with his Pa Dean Danielson, his Ma Jane Danielson, and his fiance Clair Jones, and hasn't felt this nervous in his life.

"Breathe son, breathe." Dean says as he rubs his son's back to try to relax him "everyone will be drafted, and I am sure you'll be drafted in the first 3 rounds."

"Yeah if your not, they are not paying attention" Clair said "you're one of the best players in the draft, and we will show anyone who doesn't draft you just how good you are!"

"Sweetie I will always believe in you" Jane says "all of us will"

"Thanks y'all." Eric says "all of that makes me feel a bit better" They reach the meeting point and they were led to a room beside the drafr podium. When Eric went in, he chatted with a few former rivals of his, laughing at old times. "Yeah I do remember that hit!" He laughs "I was seeing stars as well, knocked me silly"

"Oh honey..." Jane says, always being nervous about her son taking big hits.

"It's alright Ma" Eric says "I got right back up. I will always try to get back up from everything"

"I know honey but sometimes I can't help but worry"

"I know Ma. I wouldn't have it any other way" Eric then hugged his mom as they sat down to wait out the draft. Eric didn't expect to go out in the first round, but was still disappointed when he wasn't.

"Don't worry son you'll be chosen soon"
Dean reassures him "they know how much value you bring to any locker room"

"Right Pa I'll try to stay positive." Eric smiles, then right after the 16th pick Eric's cell phone rings as the family gets ready to celebrate. "Hello you have reached Eric Richards" Eric says as he answers it

"Hello Eric this is the GM of the London Royals" a British voice answers. "We would like to ask you how you would feel about being the next draft pick for us"

"I would absolutely love to, and I will prove that it is an amazing choice" Eric says as he starts to get excited.

"I would hope so. We are about to announce the pick so get ready" He headed to the entryway of the podium.

"With the 17th pick of the DSFL Draft, the London Royals select...Eric Richards, Linebacker from the University of Kentucky" Brex the NSFL Commissioner says as Eric heads out there to happily receive his golden jersey with Richards and Number 67 on the back. He smiles as the press takes pictures.

"Congratulations Son!" Dean says as he hugs Eric. "Londom huh guess that place is nice this time of year"

"London sounds like a lovely place to live" Jane agrees. "I think we will love it there" The next day, Eric and his family pack up to head out to London for the contract signing and to look for a home for him and his family. Clair has also agreed to head there with them.

"Do we have everything we need Pa?" Eric asks. "We have to be at the airport in 4 hours"

"Yeah I think we do" Dean smiles "we are all ready to go. Gonna be quite a culture shock"

"Yeah but we'll manage" Eric smiles "we always do"

"Yeah I guess we will" Dean smiles "but don't expect me to drink any tea"

"Don't worry Pa" Eric laughs "I don't really like tea ether" They then headed out, ready for whatever is next.
