As I've been watching football for the last decade or so, there is one position that has always spoke to me more then the others, that position is the Tight End. There have been some greats I've seen at the position recently like Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham among many other fantastic players at the position. Personally as a 49ers fan, the ones that stood out to me are Vernon Davis and George Kittle. I can't make a post about tight ends without mentioning Travis Kelce as well. The thing I love about this position the most is that you have to extremely athletic at both aspects of offense to be able to successful. The true legends at the league are able to both block, and receive with poise and toughness. Tight ends are often overlooked by a lot of teams, but I think that is changing as Tight Ends are shown to be some of the best athletes on the field at any given time. A great tight end is able to overpower the defense backs in the pass game while also blocking bloodthirsty defensive lineman and creating holes for the run game. One advantage of Tight ends is that they are usually bigger then normal receivers, but still fast enough to gain vertical threat on the field. These added size gives them more strength and makes them an endzone threat as well. While they are bigger then receivers, they are smaller then other O-line positions, meaning that they can move faster then other linemen keeping the defense in front of them. Originally I created as a cornerback because I'm a fan of Richard Sherman, but after seeing what George Kittle has done for the niners, it only made sense that he would be my inspiration for recreating as a tight end like I have now. I'm hoping that with my new player I can fulfill both the duties that great Tight Ends are able to do and help my team by giving more opportunities to the players around me. I feel like Tight end is great because it doesn't require a lot of selfishness in terms of the utility you get out of a tight end. Unlike a wide receiver or Runner back who is generally only really able to get involved in passing or running plays, I believe that a Tight End can make an impact on every single play and I'm hoping to prove that with my time on the Coyote. I'm not exactly sure where tight ends rank in nsfl drafts, and with my past as an inactive I can totally understand If I don't go very high in the draft, but I would like to say that I feel way more involved with this player and hope that I can make an actual career out of Rigby. Whoever does end up drafting me, I believe, Will be able to get a serviceable tight end for the future and hopefully I can be a part of something great for whatever team I come to. In the end, obviously the position of Tight End is not an end all be all nor is it more important then any other position on the field, I just believe some light should be shined on such a versatile and growing position that has been neglected by many in the past. I think as time goes on we will only see more great athletes popping up at this position and eventually making it considered one of the premium skill positions among Wide Receivers and Running backs alike. Thanks for reading into my brain a little bit.
