Day by day goes by and this draft class, while not the most generational appears like it will go down as one of the five best classes in DSFL's history, so with that mind I think I would take the time to talk about the upcoming defensive tackles in this years class with one exception, I will not be talking about Goat Tank, that seem's like a pretty controversial decision right? Wrong, in some circles he is considered the unanimous number one pick, he is always ranked as the top defensive tackle and their is nothing I can add to the Goat Tank talk that everyone else hasn't already added ten times over, this article is to show off other, maybe not as well known, talent. I will be ranking this article but don't take my word as gospel, i'm just some jack off on the internet after all.
Number One: Bonifacius Van Den Huevel
Alright, so ill admit part of this is name, and I just love his name. But behind the name their are some very impressive stats, like being the strongest defensive tackle in this class with respectable speed, agility, and tackling on top of a proven ability to improve. A lot of people seem to put him high on their list of defensive tackles and for good reason, good attributes, good activity, good guy. You'd be well to draft this guy early after Goat Tank, and you'd be wise.
Number Two: Sheed Thebaw
This guy has been consistently under rated I have noticed, let me tell you something, he has one of the most under rated profiles in the defensive tackle class. He's the fastest defensive tackle with respectable strength to boot and good agility. I'm not the only one who's noticed him either, his player page on the official DSFL website has the most traction of any player on the page, partially because Goat Tank isn't on there, partially because the man is that damn good and that damn special, notice this man, I have.
Number Three: Joey JoJo Junior Shabadoo
Hey, remember how I just got a boner for website traffic, well meet the man just, and I mean just, under Thebaw, Shabadoo while not boasting of an almighty physical like the previous two, it's as if the previous two combined their strengths and made one, I could argue on that alone makes him a contender to be number one, he has good agility, good speed, and good strength, I don't think throwing a pick in this guys direction would be a bad decision, this guys going to do something with his future, I see it.
Number Four: Honky-Tonk Haywood
This guy also have received some hype, and also for good reason, good speed, good strength, a little lacking on the agility which is why he fell so far to me. don't get me wrong solid prospect, good potential, just lacked the physicals to get him into the top three like a lot of people seem to put him, I mean no disrespect, I see the potential I just don't see the guy I would want now.
Number Five: Vance Slattery
I think this is the last of the solid choices, I think after this we get into the realm of dart throw territory. 70 strength and a archetype that isn't interior rusher is a breath of fresh air. Nose tackle and solid to boot, I may have this guy ranked five but me myself would draft this guy, I really like almost everything about him. I really wish I could've ranked this guy higher but I like me a guy with physicals and while his aren't bad, the others have some edges.
Number Six: Booker Bookchin
This next tier i'm going to go into is more or less the unknowns, these could get great assets however, we just have not seen what they can do too well. His physical are solid but also nothing we haven't seen as well or maybe even slightly better from other prospects, he doesn't have the hype that any of the others above him, I truly believe in this tier are the dart throws.
Number Seven: LeDavious Davis
Newest to the bunch but as with my number five selection I do have a soft spot in my heart this run stuffer is new to the DSFL website so new infact, he isn't even listed on most peoples mocks or reports, well I got you Davis! I like the ring of your name and the profile while not the most impressive is good in it's own right. He may be this low but I do have respect for Ser Davis, good luck on your future career my friend.
Number Eight: Hunter Mantis
I must admit a lot of things had to happen for me to rate him this low, i'm not sure about his potential and his physical profile is a bunch of what I have seen before, I really like his speed though, but I have to see more out of him before I justify putting him higher, prove me wrong young man, prove me wrong.
Number Nine: Angelo Cerilli
Don't draft this guy, there's nothing impressive about, do your team a favor and draft every other defensive tackle I ranked before him, don't say I didn't tell you so.
Something to finish this on, I did this rankings based on the DSFL DT prospects page, if you weren't there you weren't mention on this list, so either your Goat Tank or you're a recreate, which begs the question, why don't you get to be posted in their too I would like to see you there with the rest of us. Oh well, anyway, i'm out enjoy the rankings!
