So March 19th of 2020 I decided to pull the trigger and join the then-NSFL. My 1-year anniversary was nearly 2 weeks ago and I missed it. And to me, that is a great thing. The ISFL has become a part of my daily life, to the point that I no longer recognize how much time I spend on the forums or in locker rooms. (OK maybe that's not great)
There's far too many people to thank for either looking out for me or for taking a chance on me over the past year, but I'd like to shout out the GMs I've had the pleasure of playing for. When I was on the team, the Buccaneers were led by @scorycory and @jeffie43. I didn't really interact with you guys all that much, and in hindsight I probably should have. But regardless, scorycory ran a tight ship that helped set me on the path towards success.
Next, I want to thank @Frostbite and @RainDelay. Though the former no longer really operated in the ISFL, I really owe him a debt of gratitude. As the ONLY scout I had contact with going into the S22 Draft, I was able to convince him I was an active user, and unsurprisingly the newly-formed Sarasota Sailfish drafted me. Though I wouldn't play for them until S23, I was happy to know I had a home going forward. I should also thank @sakrosankt. Not only were you a great teammate, you became a great GM as well. Oh, and congrats to you both on winning that Ultimus!
Finally, I have my current team to thank. @Dewalt27 and @Highhaschdi, I'll be honest. I was not please to be pulled away from Sarasota during that S25 Expansion Draft. I think you both knew that most of us wouldn't like being forced onto a new team, but you guys made it easy to feel like Berlin was our new home. You fostered a fantastic LR environment and a culture of motivation and dedication. I really couldn't ask for more.
I really want to thank the ISFL community at large. The past year was pretty shaky for most people. For a stretch, I was out of school and also out of work. But having the ISFL there to kill the time was invaluable to me. Here's to another great year! Thank you again!
