Having spent his fair share of time on the field and in the spotlight, Albert Ruschmann has become a household name. Given this newfound fame and notoriety, Albert Ruschmann decides that he would be remiss not to leverage it for promoting a charitable cause. The charity which he would represent would be Mental Health America. Mental health and illness are topics that do not receive anywhere near enough attention in the media. Oftentimes, talking about one's mental health can be viewed as "taboo" when in reality it should be treated no differently than discussing one's physical health. Unfortunately, as such, many individuals feel that they cannot discuss the pain and struggles they have experienced and may continue to experience daily in fear of judgement from others. This is even more true for celebrities and professional athletes who know others look up to them. They feel they must be strong and bear their cross alone. Albert Ruschmann would try and break the stigma by promoting Mental Health America. They raise money to help individuals maintain and improve their mental health. While there is no "silver bullet" for many mental health issues, charities like these aid individuals in taking those first steps towards bettering themselves mentally.
Coming from Pristina, Kosovo, Suggs understands how much war has a toll on people. Despite his family having a good enough economic situation that allowed them to not feel the toll of war as much as most Kosovars, he knows the history of his people and what happened to them. One of the major problems such armed conflicts cause is the physical devastation the environment faces. And one consequences of that is the destruction of what we rely so much on: a roof above our heads. Homelessness is a tough circumstance to live around and, as such, Upshar plans to make a change about it. Not only that, but the community of Portland, his current team, feels the same way. 2 of the top 10 charities in the area, according to the “greatnonprofits” website, are about fighting homelessness and inadequate housing. So if it fits the wishes of both the player and the Python community, which are the soul of the franchise, then the answer becomes obvious. Being new to the city, he is still not sure which specific charity to support, but he is sure to ask on social media and personally for supporters to tell them which ones they consider as the one that help people the most.

Ernest Lover has been very open with his struggles as a young man with nutrition and often helps out at local food pantries and kitchens, especially during the holidays. When he moved from Baltimore to Sarasota, Ernest and his wife sought out a new, local not-for-profit organization to volunteer with. During the holiday season, they started working with Second Chance Last Opportunity for their holiday food drive. But as the couple got settled into the area, they wanted to do more to give back. Together, Ernest and his wife created a new after school life skills program for the local youth that teaches them how to make cheap and nutritious family meals. The program includes 12 weekly lessons in which the students learn a new recipe. The dishes that they make are packaged and sent home with them for their families. And at the end of the program, each student receives a virtual cookbook complete with shopping list and estimated costs for the ingredients.
Ernest and Constance worked with Second Chance Last Opportunity to apply for grant funding to buy the cooking equipment for a 15 person class, but fund the ingredients as their own contribution (in addition to their time). After a successful first run, they are looking forward to the next iteration of the class, complete with their first intern—a graduate of the first course of the class who will work with them to purchase ingredients, develop the recipe book, and create an “alumni” network of students to stay motivated to eat healthy.
If I was not a Professional Football Kicker, I know without a doubt that I would be a teacher instead. I even completed my degree before being drafted to the ISFL. I am also a New Zealand native, so I primarily volunteer and donate to New Zealand based charities like the Child Poverty Action Group, which works to stop child poverty in New Zealand, but the two Charities that I spend the most time with are Digital Future and Teach First NZ (Ako Mātātupu). These two charities are focused on teachers, students, and school which I feel are big stepping stones in a better society. Digital Future teaches students computer-based education and coding bringing students into the modern world, and Teach First NZ, which works to bring in new teachers into the profession to teach students in need. I will become a teacher after my career in the ISFL ends. And even though I can't be in New Zealand all the time, I work with the Sailfish organization that goes to local food banks to pass out food to those in need in the local Florida area, and has other charitable actions like clothing drives and visiting local schools. It is great that the team makes us spend some of our time giving back because giving back is just as important as what we put out on the Field.
