*Current University Of Georgia Quarterback and Future DSFL draftee Roscoe White sits before a ninety-ninety-one Fleetwood double-wide in Butler, Georgia. He's dressed in a ratty tuxedo t-shirt stained with oil. His hair is slicked back and a half-empty can of Pabst Blue Ribbon sits before him. An old bloodhound-golden retriever mix shuffles around the small congregation of sports journalists who have been summoned to question the potential professional quarterback.*
I'm not one for what people would call forward-thinking. I live my life one-quarter mile at a time. One moment, you're winning the Daytona 500 then the next Ryan Blaney hits you in the quarter panel and you get upside down in the catch fence. What I can guarantee you is that I'm not going to be one of those athletes who blow all their money. Sure, I spent some of the Norfolk Seawolf money already but it wasn't a lot I'll tell ya that much. I bought a two thousand nine Silverado for fifty-two hundred dollars. It only had a hundred and twenty-nine thousand miles on it. That's nothing. Then I spent two grand on a lift kit because you gotta lift that sum' bitch up. Other players, they'll spend two hundred and fifty thousand dollars on a Ferrari or Lamborghini. Something Fancy. You can't drive a Lamborghini in the winter. What if your friends are out duck hunting and they get their Jeep Grand Cherokee stuck in the swamp? You ain't pulling a Grand Cherokee with no F8 Spider. It's not practical.
