S33 Ultimus ASFC playoff preview and predictons – Tier 1 number 1
S33 Ultimus playoffs have several teams who have been here before recently, a few teams that have built back up, and a few surprices. So lets start with the ASFC
#1 Seed Arizona Outlaws. – 12-4 record
The Outlaws are back as the perennial powerhouse team they have been recently. Arizona is ranked 11th in overall TPE at 16743 but they have the earners where it matters. So let’s start with their stats. Points for they were ranked 1st in the ASFC (2nd ISFL) with 485 Points against they were 1st in the ASFC (2nd ISFL). Their offence was led by someone whom was somewhat a surprise in Rookie Wendell Sailor who came out very very hot. They ended the year throwing 4805 yards and 39 Td (3rd). Running wise Jay cue JR led the way with 1429 yards good for 3rd in the league. Overall I had Arizona has my top team to make it to the championship as the #1 seed.
#2 seed Orange County Otters – 9-7 record
After finishing dead last in all the ISFL last season Orange County Otters have soared up the standing to finish 2nd in the ASFC. We all knew they were on their way to getting back to the playoffs with their recent drafts and pick up, but golly I don’t think many saw them coming back this fast. Currently 12th on the TPE tracker in overall TPE, they make up for it with big playmakers. They finished th season with points for good for 4th in the ASFC and tied for 2nd in the division. Their offense is led by future hall of famer Goat Tank at running back who led the league with yards and scored 17 touchdowns.. Even though the Tds are only good for 2nd in the league an argument must be made that Tank is a MVP candidate carrying this team on his back. Rodka Raskolinkov was also a huge playmaker for this team with 1487 receiving yards and 9Td. Defensively OCO was led by Bender Rodriquez with this 130 tackles good for 2nd in the league and 6 sacks. OCO seems to just have an all-around solid team, a few players that can absolutely change the game. A good formula for the playoffs.
#3 seed My Austin Copperheads 8-8
It was a somewhat disappointing season only going .500 but Austin did just enough to yet again make the playoffs. As they have been on an absolute streak of playoff appearances. Austin’s great offense had 452 points for good for 2nd in the ASFC and only allowed 412 points against tied for 2nd. Austin was led by future hall of fame quarterback Jackie Daytona whom is on the downward slope of their career but still found a way to put up elite numbers with 4980 yards passing (3rd) and 40 TDs (2nd). The running game is still led by Zoe Watts whom ran for 1242 yards and 9 TDs. Jim the Vampire the pass catching back led all receivers on the team with 1393 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns. Austin doesn’t have any clear posted play makers on defense but instead as a well-rounded core of players that work well together to bend not break. They have one of the more explosive offenses that can go nuclear on any given Sunday and should have a solid shot at making it to the ASFC championship game as a upside #3 seed.
#4 Seed Honolulu Hahalua 7-9 Record.
Hon was a surprise team in that they fell off a bit this season after winning the Ulitmus in Season 31. They have some of the biggest names in ISFL and many believed would finish closer to the top of the division. Instead they fell back and benefited from a somewhat down year in the ASFC division. They scored 438 points for good for 3rd in the ASFC and 442 (5th) best in the ASFC. Joliet Christ Jr. whom many thought was poised for an MVP push finished with 4268 yards and 34 touchdowns. And was in the bottom 4 in the passing yards. Cobra Kai rushed for 1292 yards and 6 touchdowns, while Lalo Salamanca led the team with 1177 yards and 8 yards receiving. Overall I see HON as having a down season, especially with all these weapons that all seem not quite get clicking. That said could still be dangerous
Round 1
Arz Defeats Hon 31-17. Hon was just overmatched by ARZ. ARZ controlled the game from start to finish and kind of bulled HON on their way to a first round win.
OCO defeats AUS. 20-16. Even though the higher seed OCO defeated the AUS I still believed AUS was th better overall team and had a good shot at winning this game. Unfourntaly OCO just seems to have an edge on AUS as they defeated them 41-27 in their last matchup. So AUS comes up short yet again..
Round 2 ASFC championship.
OCO Defeats ARZ 34-29 -> this one here was an absolute upset. ARZ just could not stop goat tank who took the rains and ran with it rushing for 153 yards and a touchdaon averaging 10 yards a carry. The fact that they controlled the game on the ground and had huge plays from Raskonlnikov and Oath whom both had over 100 yard games allowed the ottters to take a firm lead and keep it throughout. ARZ just looked on their heels and had no answer to stop the punishing tank.
OCO will represent the ASFC in the Ulitmus against a fantastic Hawks team. If the Hawks cannot stop the otters look out.
