Elessar Jones has received his first paycheck since being drafted by the New Orleans Second Line. He is very careful with his money, so this is what his budget will look like. Two million dollars will go to paying taxes immediately, so he has about two million left to spend. Jones donates 20% of every check that he receives ($400,000). He donates to various organizations committed to combating poverty and hunger, or providing extracurricular activities such as music and sports for at-risk youth. He saves an additional 50% ($1,000,000). That gives him $600,000 left to budget for the year. He already bought a house and a car with his first paycheck, so he does not need to buy anything like that. He spends about a hundred grand just on maintaining his body as a professional athlete. He will spend some money on video games and yard games for his house, a couple nice vacations (including one to see the Shire in New Zealand), and on eating out a nice restaurants in every city he visits.

Big Slammu has decided to make a bold move this offseason and that's to leave the Hahalua roster and move on to the Baltimore Hawks. The main motivation was to have a chance to have a special season to boost his Hall of Fame chances and he felt he might have had a better chance of doing that in Baltimore. What also came as a perk was the 7 million one year deal. Slammu has kinda gotten low on money over the years. He's been going on a few too many parties these days. He should have done a better job of following his manager's advice on how to spend his money but Slammu has been known to kinda do his own thing. That has been kinda not of a bad idea when it's come to the football side of things since he's done so well on the football thing long before he had any kind of advisor.

Having come from modest means, Ernest Lover still feels a bit giddy when payday comes around. But that has never translated into being careless with his earnings; Ernest has always maintained a fairly thrifty lifestyle (for a professional football player). At the start of each season, his paycheck gets carefully earmarked: part goes home to West Virginia to take care of his aging mother, part goes into retirement savings and a special college fund for his daughter, then what is left is for the family lifestyle. Each season, he also puts away a bit of money to support his dreams after retiring from his football career. And as he nears the end of his career, he lets himself dream of starting to spend this little nest egg. Having always been interested in nutrition and supporting youth with unstable home environments, he has plans to run an after school program to teach young teens how to make healthy and affordable meals for themselves and their families.
