Just to reassert the disclaimer: by no means do pick grades reflect my personal opinions on the character of a person, they are strictly following what I think of the alignment between the team and player. The A-F system is gone in favor of a more clear marker: Poor, Fair, Good, and Excellent. These marks should be self explanatory.
MOCK DRAFT
"Round 1, Pick 1
The Berlin Fire Salamanders select:
@qWest - Rocky Moreaux
Wide Receiver, Dallas Birddogs
The Fire Salamanders take a longtime user with a massive bank, a ton of TPE, and the potential to be a one-two punch along with Zayne Dangle. Without many other offensive weapons, Berlin picks up one of the top receivers in the DSFL to give Bageshwari Singh some much-needed support at wideout. While not an easy choice between Rocky Moreaux and Matthew Mara, they are two sides of a similar and very beneficial coin.
Grade: Excellent
"
"Round 1, Pick 2
The New York Silverbacks select:
@High Stick King - Matthew Mara
Wide Receiver, Dallas Birddogs
The High Stick / Graphics King makes his mark in NYS. I wouldn't be surprised if Mara gets called up this season and immediately makes this roster better. Easy S37 ROTY contender material and a great long-term get for the Silverbacks, who relied heavily on the undying Tugg Speedman to lead their WR corps last season but won't have the same luxury available in S37.
Grade: Excellent
"
"Round 1, Pick 3
The Colorado Yeti select:
@Amidships - Charlie Thorsen
Linebacker, Tijuana Luchadores
The Yeti LR is full of users who have been here since the early days, and they reel in another vet with the addition of Amidships. Amid's LB, Charlie Thorsen, was among DSFL leaders in tackles, TFLs, forced turnovers, sacks, and PDs, and was a big part of why Tijuana secured the Ultimini. Having already surpassed the DSFL development cap with 261 TPE, the Yeti secure a much-needed leader in their front seven, as Amid should break Colorado's trend of defensive players that don't make it beyond 500 TPE.
Grade: Excellent
"
"Round 1, Pick 4
The Austin Copperheads select:
@Moldycheez4 - Jason Oexius
Cornerback, Bondi Beach Buccaneers
Austin is in a surprisingly good position with their roster, though last season's 7-9 performance might have you thinking otherwise. Given their needs and the players available, Austin elects to strengthen their secondary with the undisputable top CB in this class. Moldy has emerged as a solid user, regularly updating and interacting with the communtiy, and his player Jason Oexius was one of the top secondary defenders in the DSFL. Great pickup for Austin to further reinforce depth in their secondary.
Grade: Excellent
"
"Round 1, Pick 5
The Baltimore Hawks select:
@DarknessRising - Preston Beatz
Quarterback, Minnesota Grey Ducks
The long-rumored move by Darkness is finally made real, as his position swap was made official the last week of the DSFL. Another long-time user recreating as a QB, Darkness gets taken as the top QB in this class for a myriad of reasons. The existing connection between Baltimore and Darkness coupled with the team's need to move beyond the Gimmy Jaropolo Jr. era makes this pick a lock.
Grade: Excellent
"
"Round 1, Pick 6
The New Orleans Second Line select:
@RDBSouthPaw - Jordan Hartline
Linebacker, Bondi Beach Buccaneers
Admittedly, I don't know much about SouthPaw besides his player is a recreate. What I do know is that New Orleans is in desperate need of bulking up their LB corps and this class is more shallow than a mirage in the desert at the position. For the need alone, New Orleans needs to pick up one of the top DSFL LBs and far and away the best LB in this draft class.
Grade: Excellent
"
"Round 1, Pick 7
The New York Silverbacks select:
@dustywilson22 - Dusty Wilson
Offensive Lineman, Kansas City Coyotes
New York has some of the best available capital in this draft with three of the first 16 picks. As such they can address their needs fairly close to the order in which they need to, and they follow up on that strategy with the selection of the S37 verison of J.T. Kurbis, Dusty Wilson. Like Moldy, Dusty has emerged as a solid contributor of the latest round of new creates and should be a stellar presence in the NYS locker room.
Grade: Excellent
"
"Round 1, Pick 8
The Colorado Yeti select:
@Dip - Dip Dhillon
Wide Receiver, Bondi Beach Buccaneers
Another new create that emerged early as a solid member of the community, Dip led his WR to one of the better seasons in the DSFL this year. Dhillon boasts the third-highest TPE of any S37 wideouts at 235 and has already amassed a solid bank account at $13M. He should be a fantastic replacement as the sun sets on Cole Maxwell and can help Live Laughlove capitalize on his twilight years.
Grade: Excellent
"
"Round 1, Pick 9
The Yellowknife Wraiths select:
@OrbitingDeath - Nova Montagne
Quarterback, London Royals
OD is another long-time user turned new QB who should find a great fit in Yellowknife. With Parmelee falling victim to Sim Luck time and again last season and being well on his way to retirement, QB Nova Montagne is poised to take over a squad in need of rebuilding their passing game. If Yellowknife can add some new talent at WR sooner than later, Montagne should be set to make a splash early in their ISFL career.
Grade: Excellent
"
"Round 1, Pick 10
The Berlin Fire Salamanders select:
@Bmason0520 - Brandon Mason
Offensive Lineman, Kansas City Coyotes
Berlin probably would've wanted to get Dip Dhillon with this selection given both their need and the considerable drop in receiver talent from this point forward. That said, they can't be upset about getting the second best OL in this class and a promising user in Brandon Mason, who should get a chance to contribute in Berlin early if he can get his TPE flow moving along. Berlin needed a lineman and they got the best available by a mile. Easy win for the Fire Salamanders.
Grade: Excellent
"
"Round 1, Pick 11
The Honolulu Hahalua select:
@TheHammer43 - Bay Webb
Defensive End, Dallas Birddogs
One of the few remaining new creates that has shown regular activity and kept their player updated throughout the season. With only a few other real contenders at DE or DT on the board, Honolulu takes the best available of either at their greatest position of need. Bay Webb could very well be the anchor of the next generation of Honolulu's notoriously ferocious defense.
Grade: Excellent
"
"Round 1, Pick 12
The Chicago Butchers select:
@Kyamprac - Delores Bickerman
Quarterback, Tijuana Luchadores
Guess who else needs a quarterback? Considering the fairly numerous amount of teams that needed a QB this draft, it's fortunate for them we've had so many of them -- especially recreates -- enter this draft. Chicago needs to start thinking beyond Kazimir Oles Jr., and they do that by grabbing Kyamprac to lead them into the future. Delores Bickerman was one of the top QBs in the DSFL this season and led Tijuana to an Ultimini victory. No better way to build the future of an offense than by grabbing a quality user / QB combo.
Grade: Excellent
"
"Round 1, Pick 13
The Sarasota Sailfish select:
@TacocaT - Michael Touchback
Running Back, Minnesota Grey Ducks
I may have picked the wrong year to create a running back, but TacocaT certainly did not. Michael Touchback is leagues ahead of other potential options for RB in this draft and should offer a solid presence in the LR as well given their level of activity. With John Huntsman pushing the bounds of what's possible for an aging RB, it's time to hand the bellcow role over to a new leader in the backfield.
Grade: Excellent
"
"Round 1, Pick 14
The Honolulu Hahalua select:
@Gadget - Inspector Gadget
Safety, Portland Pythons
What Gadget may lack in TPE they more than make up for in personality. For LR presence alone Gadget would make an excellent first round selection, though Gadget also offers the added bonus of having picked up their TPE update activity recently as well. Between Gadget and Hammer, Honolulu looks to reinvent their defense from the ground up and gets two incredible staples to get that process started.
Grade: Good
"
"Round 2, Pick 1
The Berlin Fire Salamanders select:
@Ren_Solo - D’Sqarius Green V
Defensive End, Tijuana Luchadores
Berlin isn't in a position to do anything other than address core needs, and fortunately they get the second-best DE at the top of Round 2 with D'Sqarius Green V. Ren has kept up with their updates and offers a respectable 177 TPE. Berlin could've done a lot worse, Ren is good pickup for them with their only selection in this round.
Grade: Good
"
"Round 2, Pick 2
The New York Silverbacks select:
@chxhawk - Stryker Brown
Defensive End, Bondi Beach Buccaneers
User chxhawk is in a similar boat as Ren in both TPE and involvement in the league, though Ren edges them out in activity by a slight margin. As such, Stryker Brown falls to New York, helping the team address their biggest need and hopefully giving them a new anchor piece on their D-line for the forseeable future.
Grade: Good
"
"Round 2, Pick 3
The Colorado Yeti select:
@MrMom - Adam Rage
Cornerback, Tijuana Luchadores
Colorado didn't get a chance to bolster their secondary in the first round, but that doesn't mean the need has vanished. MrMom / Adam Rage go early in the second as a bit of a shot in the dark, though a necessary one for a squad with limited depth at CB and S. Another core piece of the Luchadores championship-winning roster, MrMom should at least give Colorado a shot at getting past their defensive woes, especially when coupled with fellow draftee Charlie Thorsen.
Grade: Good
"
"Round 2, Pick 4
The Austin Copperheads select:
@RyanM1414 - Ryan Murray
Safety, Bondi Beach Buccaneers
Ryan Murray may not be the most known quantity around the league, but they do offer Austin a few things: 1. filling a position need to round out an otherwise-sound secondary, and 2. a defender they can call up after next season that should be able to make an immediate impact. If Austin can keep Ryan active, this will be a great pickup for them.
Grade: Fair
"
"Round 2, Pick 5
The Colorado Yeti select:
@FleshBagSoup - Yummy HotDogPie
Offensive Lineman, London Royals
Colorado loves their oddly-named linemen, so do they reach for Yummy HotDogPie because of that? No no, they also do it because YHP is the only lineman left in the draft and Manhattan Project will be retiring in the Galapagos soon enough. Colorado will find great fortune in this pick if they can get FleshBagSoup to stay active and updated.
Grade: Fair
"
"Round 2, Pick 6
The New Orleans Second Line select:
@Jabs - Wae Traynes
Cornerback, London Royals
One of the biggest question marks of the draft. Jabs is a great user who ventured over from PBE, and his player Wae Traynes is one of the few CBs this draft over 68 TPE, so for that alone it might be worth the reach for a CB-needy team like New Orleans. Looking beyond that, however, and we're left to wonder if Jabs will actually stick around -- he's staying updated but has previously indicated a high potential for going IA. Given the rest of the players in this draft though, it's worth the risk.
Grade: Fair
"
"Round 2, Pick 7
The Philadelphia Liberty select:
@negs - Tingis Pingis
Cornerback, Norfolk SeaWolves
GM Pick - but it's negs so who cares.
Grade: Excellent
"
"Round 2, Pick 8
The Philadelphia Liberty select:
@r0tzbua - Known Acquaintance
Kicker, Kansas City Coyotes
It's no secret that Philly needs a kicker. I mean, really, *damn* do we need a kicker. Can someone please give us a kicker? Well, by all the good graces of the ISFL gods, r0tz falls into the lap of the Liberty here and provides KP support where there has been essentially none for multiple seasons running. Quality user + recreate + KP + not negs = success.
Grade: Excellent
"
"Round 2, Pick 9
The Yellowknife Wraiths select:
@LutherVox - Luther Vox
Wide Receiver, London Royals
WIth their QB need addressed, Yellowknife turns to their aging WR corps and tries to fill the gap with Luther Vox. Vox has shown varying levels of activity and purely fits the bill for this pick as a needs-based selection. There's a lot of upside if Vox stays active, but indications around that level of dedication to the league are still in question. If nothing else at least they are keeping up with updates.
Grade: Good
"
"Round 2, Pick 10
The San Jose Sabercats select:
@nunccoepi - Adrian St. Christmas
Quarterback, Portland Pythons
San Jose is in a similar boat as other teams picking QBs this draft -- an aging player on their way out, needing to address the development of a new QB this season. San Jose probably should've started this process sooner, but as luck would have it they still manage to grab one of the top QBs in this draft and the DSFL commissioner in one fell swoop. nunc should be a solid addition to the LR and is likely to be called up as soon as S38 given how hard regression is hitting McKyle.
Grade: Excellent
"
"Round 2, Pick 11
The Arizona Outlaws select:
@Crunk - Danny Nedelko
Running Back, London Royals
GM Pick - Arizona gets their GM and RB of the future in Danny Nedelko, taking over for the legend and potential HOFer Jay Cue Jr. Given Nedelko's DSFL performance and AZ's need, it's likely he gets called up to the roster sooner than later.
Grade: Excellent
"
"Round 2, Pick 12
The Sarasota Sailfish select:
@Hontier - Gribbuh Fister
Linebacker, Minnesota Grey Ducks
One of the best LBs in this draft who is only falling due to their level of activity. If Hontier can pick up their frequency of udpates and turns into a bigger presence once they are in an ISFL LR, this pick will be an absolute steal for the Sailfish, who are in need of retooling their aging front seven.
Grade: Good
"
"Round 2, Pick 13
The Chicago Butchers select:
@CeeKay - Cornelius King III
Wide Receiver, Dallas Birddogs
Chicago takes one of the last active updaters in the S37 WR group with Cornelius King III. I don't know anything about CeeKay other than they're keeping up with updates, and that's about as good as you can get with this class. Here's to hoping it turns out well for both parties.
Grade: Good
"
"Round 2, Pick 14
The New Orleans Second Line select:
@xQCFamous - Monty Ward
Linebacker, Portland Pythons
One of the highest TPE and highest bank LBs dropping to the end of the second. Why? Because xQC has gone IA in the past and there's a lot of uncertainty around whether he's going to stick it out this time around. If he does though, this would be a massive get for the Second Line, especially when paired with SouthPaw and the rest of the new NOLA defensive up-and-comers.
Grade: Excellent
"
"Round 3, Pick 1
The Berlin Fire Salamanders select:
@Matty86 - Matthew Mayhem
Defensive End, Norfolk SeaWolves
From what I gather, Matty was a highly scouted prospect in this class. The only thing bringing him down into the third round is his TPE, though I suspect he will be a solid earner over time if early indications hold true. One of the last but certainly not least DEs in S37.
Grade: Good
"
"Round 3, Pick 2
The New York Silverbacks select:
@WALDO - — Thwomp
Defensive End, Bondi Beach Buccaneers
Back from his suspension, WALDO is emerging with one of the lowest TPE DEs of this draft, Thwomp. NYS doubles down on defensive ends and hopes at least one of their picks works out. Will everyone be left wondering where is WALDO, or will the prodigal son return to form and show the world the power of Thwomp? Only one man holds that particular key to his own destiny.
Grade: Fair
"
"Round 3, Pick 3
The Colorado Yeti select:
@HasumiKi - Orion Jasper
Wide Receiver, Norfolk SeaWolves
The last actively updating WR in this class. I don't know HasumiKi or Orion Jasper, but the Yeti need more help at WR and this is a chance to fill the gap. It's a bit of a flag that HasumiKi hasn't updated in a few weeks, so hopefully the Yeti can bring them back around to activity.
Grade: Fair
"
"Round 3, Pick 4
The Austin Copperheads select:
@deckerd - Deckerd DeShaw
Safety, Tijuana Luchadores
Like the NYS pick before this one, Austin doubles their chances of picking up a quality user / player by taking Deckerd DeShawa. deckerd missed their last update but has been active since. Quality sleeper pick if Austin can keep them active.
Grade: Fair
"
"Round 3, Pick 5
The Baltimore Hawks select:
@WhatAmUs - Blibby Shpoopy
Running Back, Portland Pythons
I had high hopes that WhatAmUs would stick around, but alas that was not the case. He's missed two updates now and appears to have gone dark in the forums for a couple weeks, not to mention he dropped out of interacting in the LR recently. WhatAmUs is a great user and Shpoopy is somehow the second-highest TPE RB in this class, so hopefully Baltimore can get them to come back to ISFL life.
Grade: Fair
"
"Round 3, Pick 6
The Baltimore Hawks select:
@Aford9910 - Aaron Ford
Running Back, Norfolk SeaWolves
Similar story as Shpoopy albeit more active. Do Shpoopy / Ford replace the aging King / Goose duo that has one of the most powerful offensive forces in the league? Baltimore doesn't need much so they may as well take the chance with the two best remaining RBs in this draft.
Grade: Fair
"
"Round 3, Pick 7
The New York Silverbacks select:
@lamp_wizard - Cardorino Tarotino
Tight End, Norfolk SeaWolves
All but one pick from here on out are on the verge of being IA, so in my view teams may as well just take the best available player and hope it works out. That's right, we didn't even make it three full rounds before this class all but dropped off a cliff. Big sad!
Grade: Poor
"
"Round 3, Pick 8
The Berlin Fire Salamanders select:
@McLovin - Mickey Lauvin
Wide Receiver, London Royals
Mickey Lauvin is a wide receiver. Wide receivers catch footballs on the offense. The offense is the one that's supposed to score all the points. So Mickey could potentially score points. That's just science.
Grade: Poor
"
"Round 3, Pick 9
The Yellowknife Wraiths select:
@ThePope - Paddy MacGuinness
Kicker, Dallas Birddogs
Great name. We need more Irish kickers in the league. Paddy MacGuinness is an Irish name, correct? Should I not assume that? I wonder if Paddy is actually from Honduras or something. I would like to learn more.
Grade: Poor
"
"Round 3, Pick 10
The San Jose Sabercats select:
@Southie - Dobromil Dvořák
Running Back, Portland Pythons
Ok I can't keep doing this. This is the 10th pick in the 3rd round. What do you want me to say?
Grade: Poor
"
"Round 3, Pick 11
The Arizona Outlaws select:
@Lemorse7 - Dalibor Dvorsky
Safety, Kansas City Coyotes
I think my best Monkey Type score ever was like 120 WPM. I am very proud of that.
Grade: Poor
"
"Round 3, Pick 12
The Orange County Otters select:
@Vishy - Vader Page
Cornerback, Minnesota Grey Ducks
Fun fact: I have a tattoo of Vault Boy on my left forearm. If I ever get $2,500 to burn I'm going to fill the rest of the arm out as an homage to my history with video games. Anyone got a spare dollar?
Grade: Poor
"
"Round 3, Pick 13
The Sarasota Sailfish select:
@Bacarri_Rambo - Bacarri Rambo
Cornerback, Kansas City Coyotes
My son laughed for the first time the other week. It was one of the greatest moments of my entire life. First time I ever made anyone laugh too -- true story!
Grade: Poor
"
"Round 3, Pick 14
The New Orleans Second Line select:
@JAC_ - Jackson Cannon
Kicker, Minnesota Grey Ducks
The first time I ever went to Europe I was about 12 or 13 years old and had a fanny pack to hold all my stuff -- money, passport, calling card (I'm old), etc. Thinking back on it, that thing was very practical, and I could see a lot of use for a fanny pack in every day life. Is that the dad blood taking over my brain and injecting these kinds of ideas? Maybe, but I still stand by the logic of it all.
Grade: Poor
"
"Round 4, Pick 1
The Berlin Fire Salamanders select:
@JustPureLuck08 - Toby Hays
Wide Receiver, Tijuana Luchadores
Speaking of being old, the first game I ever played was Super Mario Kart on a SNES when I was like 5. I played the shit out of that SNES, man that thing was so cool. I also beat Battletoads as a kid, including that fucking tunnel level. Basically what I'm saying is that I'm a genius and god-tier gamer.
Grade: Poor
"
"Round 4, Pick 2
The New York Silverbacks select:
@Pan - Alexander Johnson
Cornerback, Portland Pythons
I never made it past Silver IV in ranked LoL. Honestly I'm probably a better man for it.
Grade: Poor
"
"Round 4, Pick 3
The Colorado Yeti select:
@DankKushers - Gavin Kushers
Running Back, Tijuana Luchadores
When I was roughly 6 years old I was a top-30 finalist for the national chess championships. If only I knew that chess would be cool someday I might've stuck with it.
Grade: Poor
"
"Round 4, Pick 4
The Honolulu Hahalua select:
@gucci - Brock Landers Jr.
Quarterback, Dallas Birddogs
Holy hot jesus, we actually have a pick that isn't a total question mark or IA risk? What is that.. wait.. I see it.. could it be.. gucci? Indeed, it is! Brock Landers Jr. makes it to the draft boards as the final pick in the draft. Why? I have no idea, but from what my sources tell me gucci was DND for a lot of teams. I'm not quite sure why that's the case for a long-time user and one of the best QBs in this class, but then again I'm not a smart GM like negs so maybe I just don't know any better. Maybe one of you can fill me in someday. Congrats, gucci!

Ren has kept up with their updates and offers a respectable 177 TPE. Berlin could've done a lot worse, Ren is good pickup for them with their only selection in this round.

"Round 2, Pick 2
The New York Silverbacks select:
@chxhawk - Stryker Brown

"Round 2, Pick 3
The Colorado Yeti select:
@MrMom - Adam Rage
@RyanM1414 - Ryan Murray
@FleshBagSoup - Yummy HotDogPie
@Jabs - Wae Traynes

"Round 2, Pick 7
The Philadelphia Liberty select:
@negs - Tingis Pingis
Cornerback, Norfolk SeaWolves
GM Pick - but it's negs so who cares.
Grade: Excellent
"
"Round 2, Pick 8
The Philadelphia Liberty select:
@r0tzbua - Known Acquaintance
@LutherVox - Luther Vox
@nunccoepi - Adrian St. Christmas
@Crunk - Danny Nedelko
@Hontier - Gribbuh Fister
@CeeKay - Cornelius King III
@xQCFamous - Monty Ward
@Matty86 - Matthew Mayhem
@WALDO - — Thwomp
Grade: Fair

"Round 3, Pick 3
The Colorado Yeti select:
@HasumiKi - Orion Jasper
@deckerd - Deckerd DeShaw
@WhatAmUs - Blibby Shpoopy
@Aford9910 - Aaron Ford
@lamp_wizard - Cardorino Tarotino
@McLovin - Mickey Lauvin
Wide Receiver, London Royals
Mickey Lauvin is a wide receiver. Wide receivers catch footballs on the offense. The offense is the one that's supposed to score all the points. So Mickey could potentially score points. That's just science.
Grade: Poor

"Round 3, Pick 9
The Yellowknife Wraiths select:
@ThePope - Paddy MacGuinness
Kicker, Dallas Birddogs
Great name. We need more Irish kickers in the league. Paddy MacGuinness is an Irish name, correct? Should I not assume that? I wonder if Paddy is actually from Honduras or something. I would like to learn more.

The Orange County Otters select:
@Vishy - Vader Page
Cornerback, Minnesota Grey Ducks
Fun fact: I have a tattoo of Vault Boy on my left forearm. If I ever get $2,500 to burn I'm going to fill the rest of the arm out as an homage to my history with video games. Anyone got a spare dollar?

The Sarasota Sailfish select:
@Bacarri_Rambo - Bacarri Rambo

"Round 3, Pick 14
The New Orleans Second Line select:
@JAC_ - Jackson Cannon

"Round 4, Pick 1
The Berlin Fire Salamanders select:
@JustPureLuck08 - Toby Hays

The Honolulu Hahalua select:
@gucci - Brock Landers Jr.
