21. Written Option: If your player had a show starring them, what would the plot be?
The name of the show is Hometown Hank. A camera crew finds Hank at his parents expansive farm in the small city of Yeehaw Junction, FL. Hank loved to spend as much time with his family as he can, so whenever he had free time during college he would come down and help out his dad take care of the farm. The show centers around the internal struggle Hank is facing as he gears up for the DSFL draft and has to put aside his love for working on the farm. The show culminates in a heartwarming and tear jerking conversation between Hank and his Dad, where Hank comes to terms with his guilt and realizes that his dad only wants what is best for him, and that's entering the draft. Joking that whenever it is off season there will be enough chores left for him to do.
26. if your player wasn't a professional in the ISFL/DSFL, what would they be doing instead?
Aside from football, Hank has always had two loves; farming and music. Granted he always imagined he would come back home if football didn't work out and get to choring on the farm with his dear old dad. But Hank had a hidden aspiration to go work in the music industry, not as a performer but as a suit in the business of music. Whenever he would share these dreams with others they'd usually just laugh at him, so he shut down about it and kept them locked away. Hank was good at math and had finished is B.A. in Business Management with a minor in Finance at Georgia Tech, so he had the right education. He would just have to get his foot in the door. Maybe he would work as an accountant and try to climb the corporate ladder. He wasn't sure what the path would exactly look like he just wabted to be where the action was.
11. Write a short biography or story about your player. This could include background about how they came to the ISFL and how they’ve done so far, a story about their role in an exciting game, or anything else related to their experience in the league.
Hank Mardukas was born in Vero Beach, FL to his loving mother, father and sister. The family lived a short drive away in the small town of Yeehaw Junction. The family owned a large farm on the outskirts of the nearly non-existant City. On the farm the raised chickens, hogs, dairy cows and had a few horses just for riding.
Hank spent his youngest years running around in the fields and rolling around in the mud with the pigs. Football had always been a Mardukas household staple. Gameday was THE day. He grew up watching Purdue and UF religiously because of those being his parents' alma maters. Hank showed interest in playing football almost immediately. Him and his dad would spend the late evenings tossing around a football as the sun went down. He even joined the local peewee league in Vero Beach, where the whole family would come and cheer him on.
Hank ended up playing tight end for the Vero Beach Fighting Indians during high school. Setting several school records and helping to take Vero Beach High to the state playoffs. Despite Hank's best efforts the team lost in the second round to Lakewood Ranch High School. That didn't stop scouts from noticing Hank though. He received several P5 offers and a handful of G5 ones. After several site visits up and down the east coast, Hank committed to Georgia Tech and set his eyes on Atlanta.
Hank started as second string gis freshman year, not having bulked enough to beat out the current junior starter. However after an unfortunate season ending injury to the first string, Hank found himself on the field in 9 games. Making a name for himself Hank finished the season with 5 touchdowns, blowing expectations out of the water. Hanks most noticeable performance came during his junior year hate week game against rival UGA. Hank received a 15 yard pass and beat out the UGA safety to run another 25 yards for TD. Due to some ridiculous post TD celebration antics he landed the nickname "Yeehaw Hank".
Hank finished out his senior racking up more yards and TDs drawing a lot of whispers about his future career in the ISFL. Hank graduated from GT with his Bachelor's and proceeded to declare for the DSFL draft. Currently Hank Mardukas sits as one of several tight end prospects awaiting the draft on April 13. He is definitely one to keep an eye on.
