Greetings, members of the ISFL. Have you ever felt your team might be cursed? Have you found it strange you can't quite get over the hump and win a title? Perhaps you are under the curse of Thiath.
The curse of Thiath states that no team who harbors the user known as Thiath on their roster shall exceed .500. In this article I will present surefire evidence.
It all began in season 22. The dallas birddogs drafted my first player, Ragnar Rok at some point in the S22 DSFL Draft. In that fateful season the birddogs achieved a perfectly average 7-7 record.
The following season, in my first year in the pro league. The Sarasota Sailfish pulled in Ragnar Rok and followed in similar fashion. Recording 8-8 in their second ever season as a team. This was the end of Ragnar Rok's career in the ISFL. Though he did tie some rookie record at the time, he was a largely forgettable player.
My second player, Etrigan The Slayer, declared for the DSFL draft in season 24, and was ultimately taken by the Portland Pythons. While Etrigan was an absolute stat monster, the Pythons still managed to only go 6-8.
Etrigan would spend the following season on the Pythons again, where they would improve to 7-7. During this time, He was drafted by the Chicago Butchers. Who would also, inevitably go 8-8.
In S26 Etrigan was traded from Chicago to Baltimore where he eventually won DROTY and DTOTY in one season, also drawing votes for DPOTY. An incredible season stat wise, however, Baltimore would end the year with a record of 6-10. Portland would go on to improve to 13-1 and an Ultimini appearance. The Chicago Butchers meanwhile would go 10-6 the year after moving off Etrigan.
Etrigan would go on to spend the rest of his career in Baltimore. S27 would mark the worst record for not only Etrigan, but the Hawks themselves. Going 0-16 in one of only a few winless seasons in ISFL History.
S28 saw very slight improvement. From 0-16 to 2-14 for Etrigan. S29 was another slight improvement. From 2-14 to 3-13.
Both of Etrigan's final years in Baltimore saw 4-12 records. Etrigan would retire shortly after to avoid regression.
To Summerize so far. My total record as a player in the ISFL (without counting the year I was sent down as I didn't technically play for Chicago at the time.) Is an astonishing 41-107 or 0.277.
If we add in my S39 season as Dick Grayson for the Bondi Beach Buccanears of 2-11 and my first season in New Orleans at 6-10 that record is now 49-177 or 0.276. (math was my worst subject in school, this might be wrong.)
So, what can you gather from this information? Well, It's a safe bet that if your favorite team ever drafts my player, they will be subject to the Thiath curse. May god have mercy on their souls.
