Good Morning and thank you for listening to the 5-7 Podcast with your host as always, Johnny "100 Agility" Jones. Today is a very important day in history, as an impressive recruit has officially declared for the upcoming DSFL draft. His name: Klaus. Von. Reinherz. Coming from his previous employment at Libra, Klaus has made the tough decision to take a leave from his position to pursue his deep-rooted love for the game of football. I could tell you more but why not hear it from the man himself, and here he is! Thank you for joining this morning Klaus!
Klaus (K): Yes of course old friend, I couldn’t be happier to share this stage with you today, and I look forward to our coming discussion.
Johnny (JJ): And I as well, so why don’t we get started with a quick peek at your background?
K: Ah yes, I’m originally from Germany, where I grew up admiring the sport of football. I would watch games with my old man on our beaten down box TV. I always enjoyed seeing the teamwork and trust required to form a strong team.
JJ: Is there a specific memory that stands out?
K: Indeed there is. One fateful Sunday evening. On that day, my father and I were watching the Philadelphia Liberty. The team was struggling, and they were playing from behind early. The team was forced into a lot of difficult passing situations and long 3rd downs. The QB had taken a couple hits, but kept getting up to fight and keep the chains moving. After seeing the determination behind the QB, I looked to my dad and asked, “How can he stay motivated, how come he’s able to stand back in the pocket each play? Is he not scared out of his wits of the defenders?” My father replied with words of wisdom that resonate with me still to this day. He said, “Son, trust. He trusts his linemen. He trusts his backs and receivers too. He trusts his team and his men. He may be taking hits, but his linemen have kept the pocket clean for him and given him time to make plays and keep the game from slipping out of control. He trusts his backs and tight ends to pick up blitzers. And he trusts his receivers to get free to give him the chance he needs to make a play. But all of this couldn’t be done without the athleticism of the 5 men in his front. He trusts that they will be an unbreakable shield while he stays in that pocket.” From that day forward, I put all my effort into becoming a man strong enough to be worthy of that same type of trust.
JJ: Those words are indeed profound. And I do remember fondly the stacks of pancakes that the Philly o-linemen used to serve. You mentioned that this motivated you to become strong, did you know right then you wanted to be an offensive lineman?
K: Mostly I did yes, I pondered my options but being an o-lineman made the most sense considering my passions.
JJ: Incredible. A young kid motivated by trustworthiness. So now, I’d like to transition to the next big stage of your life. Your move to America, and your decision not to go to college and play football in Hellsalem’s Lot, formally known as New York.
K: I moved to America when I turned 20. At that point I had been training in both combat and the way of football. Hellsalem’s Lot is a city full of monsters and the extraordinary. I chose not to play football because I felt I wouldn’t be living up to my greater purpose. Libra needed me more than the field did at that time. As the leader of Libra, I strived to earn the trust of my men, and help normal people survive against the threats posed by the city. Throughout the years of battle I continued to grow and support my organization. Recently, our organization has reached new heights, so I felt it acceptable for me to appoint a new leader and step away to pursue my dream of football.
JJ: Thank you for the pain you endured for the people in Hellsalem’s Lot. The city would have been decimated 20 times over at least without the resistance you formed. And now, I’m excited to see you bring your strength and talents to the world of football. Now that we’ve shown a light on your mysterious background, I’d like to ask one more question of you before we sign off. What is your goal Klaus?
K: My goal hasn’t changed since I was a kid. To be worthy of the trust of my friends and teammates. To be a man whom the team can look up to and rely on. To be an unbreakable shield.
JJ: Thank you very much for your time Klaus. To the audience at home, thank you for listening. I hope you’ve enjoyed our conversation and have learned quite a lot about this exciting young prospect. I hope to see you all back here tomorrow as well for another thrilling show. When you may ask? 5-7. I’m Johnny Jones, signing off.
