Blairunapologetic - Conduct Detrimental

It has been brought to the attention that user @blairunapologetic has displayed behaviour unwanted in this league. This includes both from his time within the league in the form of some of their media posts containing NSFW topics and comments in the DSFL rookie server utilizing offensive language as well as from outside of the  from activity on other media platforms that would have no place in our league, which includes transphobic and racist views/remarks

We emphatically find this breaches our Conduct Detrimental the the league rule IX. C.1, breaking clause A (Takes place in an official league owned space), C (Contains NSFW imagery), D (Contains hateful or offensive language) and E (Takes place in any online or public space and; (1) would meet the requirements of this rule if it took place in an official league owned space or public facing area and (2) can reasonably be confirmed as the same person with an account in the ISFL and (3) there exists reasonable suspicion that similar offenses will occur in an ISFL space.)

As a result, Blariunapologetic will be permanently banned from the league. His player will be immediately retired and subject to the normal conditions for a banned user (that is, considered IA according to the normal rules)

This is the first time punishing someone with a large chunk of the reasoning coming from CDL clause E, which was introduced after the Zap punishment. A case like this perfectly demonstrates why such a rule was added. We as HO wish to protect our community of users from anyone that would push them out and alienate them due to who they are as a person. Any user, from any race, nationally, ethnicity, origin, color, religion, sex, age, sexuality or mental/physical disability has a right to to feel as though they belong in our community. Our community is for everyone and is a space where all deserve respect and to feel as though they can be themselves, and it is up to us as HO to make that a continual reality.

It is important for us to acknowledge publicly as well that whilst we have came to this conclusion, it wasn't without critique during the process. Those within such communities directly impacted have expressed to us displeasure with how we as a group have completed this process and how we have gone about it. It doesn't matter that the verdict in the end is going to protect them, as the next time such an issue may arise, users may not feel that HO is doing enough to look after them. We wanted to publicly apologize to those who are hurt by our actions and make this statement to show our understanding of what has happened without shying away from it. In the aftermath of this case, we will be looking to set up a better procedure of how to handle cases that so often come with a lot of personal trauma and need a different approach to the usual way HO handles things.

I just wanna say that often in these leagues it is very common and accepted that HO gets bashed and critisized for their decisions.

So I just also want to do the opposite and congratulate HO on a really great decision that makes me very happy and proud. Well done! Really pleased about this.
