DJ Maclean is not a flashy guy, off the field. Sure, he may stand out with his sterling play on the field, but generally he’s quite a quiet, reserved guy, and his musical tastes match this. DJ doesn’t listen to the kinds of music you’d expect from a football player, rather than the hip hop you hear from his teammates lockers after practice, or the metal blasting out of the GMs office, when he thinks everyone has gone home, DJ prefers a bit of Scottish folk-infused indie rock. He also is a pretty decent bass guitarist in his own right. He is not much of a singer though, so he would be invited to provide some bass and, possibly, some quiet backing vocals for one of his favourite Scottish indie bands, Idlewild. Formerly a spiky, punky band, Idlewild have mellowed over the years. They still know how to rock, but DJ would be involved in one of their catchy, folky tracks about life in the highlands!
Outlaws fans were surprised when they heard Brian Vincent-Vega's voice in Frank Ocean's new single that was part of a highly anticipated album roll out. Here's how it came to be:
Brian Vincent-Vega is a big Frank Ocean fan. His music has helped him through break ups and farewells, and some of his favorite tracks include 'Forrest Gump' and 'White Ferrari'. After mentioning Frank Ocean's music on a podcast appearance, he got a surprise call from Frank Ocean's team, saying he wanted him on a single. There was one problem. Vincent-Vega was not a good singer! But that wasn't why Frank Ocean called him. Brian Vincent-Vega recorded a 30 second monologue about how he uses music as a way to overcome adversities in life by painting a vivid picture of him listening to a song-a song he can't remember the title of-on the radio on the way home after suffering a knee injury in high school. The monologue ends with Vincent-Vega humming and trying to recall the song.
Man my agent is just sending me the craziest offers now. But Gesicki was still excited by his musical opportunity, despite the oddness of the request. Gesicki has always loved music but hasn't played an instrument since recorder in elementary school. But as it turned out, Gesicki was invited to participate in a elementary school concert at his old elementary school back in D.C. Gesicki was super excited and flew back to the states for the concert. He was only given 2 weeks notice and rushed to buy a new recorder. Even though he played it, Gesicki was never good at it, mostly just doing because he had to in music. So Gesicki quickly relearned the basics of the recorder before returning home for the concert. Gesicki was very nervous to perform in front of 600 8 year old's but made it through most of the concert until the very end where the administrators surprised with a solo. Gesicki wasn't prepared, but belted out a beautiful rendition of hot cross buns to a cheering crowd to end the show and Gesicki's musical career.
Legs McMillion was not happy when his agent signed him up for this music performance. As the world already knows, he can't sing as he has no mouth or vocal chords. So all he can show to the world is his passion for DANCE. He has half as much to work with as everyone else when it comes to dancing, so he has to be really innovative for his moves to work. Legs decided to create his own choreography for whatever music video his agent signed him up for. He had never done anything like this before, so he was quite nervous. Or at least as nervous as his lack of a nervous system would allow.
Despite all of his hard work, the dance turned out to be a flop. Legs McMillion should really stick to playing football. This could very well be the most embarrassing moment of his life. He begged the league to not show the video anywhere.
Young Chop already has quite the illustrious musical career as his works have grazed those throughout the nation for decades. Mostly it was his cousins work Tony Tony Chopper that helped him climb to fame as he piggy backed off of that success in order to propel himself into the spotlight. But hey, royalty does what royalty does. Anyways Chopper is trained in a variety of musical instruments and will be playing alongside other famous musicians in a gala in downtown London for the holiday season. He hopes to grace the crowd with his presence and keep the perfect melody. Chopper will be rocking the piano and hopefully it will be accompanied by some vocals. While the guest list and headliners have no yet been confirmed. My sources do tell me some famous rappers might pop out and young Chopper will have to ditch the classical training and bust some rhymes.
Purdy Mediocre has and always will be a major fan of Drake since his teammates in hockey got him hooked on his music in the locker room. This is also combined with the fact they are both Canadian it makes him an instant favorite for Purdy. He absolutely jumped at the opportunity to be a part of his new hit single “Slime you out” Purdy was just along to help sing the verse a couple times and really just be a hype man in the video. None the less it was a dream of sorts come true to reach the level of stardom that a top artist in the world wants to work with you. Purdy relished at the opportunity to be part of it and was able to get an early release of the music which of course he has be blasting in the locker room on repeat for his entire team to hear. “Slimin' you out, slimin' you out, slime”
