8. Even though it hasn't been a very long time, my initial exposure to league has been a really positive one so far. At first, everything seemed really overwhelming, and at the start I was thinking "how am I going to get a handle on all of this." With a lot of these things, you see very tight cliques form and more established players kind of gatekeeping or blocking out newer players, which makes it really tough to get involved and have a good time. When I saw just how deep/complex some of this stuff can get when I first browsed the forums, I was a bit worried that could be the case here. From what I've experienced, that couldn't be farther from the truth. I haven't had as much time to talk a ton in the Discords, but I've had a lot of 1 on 1 talks with GMs, new players like me, established players, etc, that have been really cool. For the most part, the community seems to really embrace newer players and doesn't mind people like me asking questions about basic stuff. Everyone seems mature, but not too serious, which is literally the perfect balance.
I think that's why the community here seems to really be thriving. Yeah, there really are a lot of moving parts with this, but it manages to find a good balance between not dominating your real life while also being fun enough so you aren't just waiting around. I can check the discords, the forums, and do some tasks in under an hour if I need to, which is great, but I can also spend a bit longer reading through stuff, talking to people, making a funny post, etc. I'm really excited to see what all goes on once the season starts in full. This is definitely something I could see myself doing for a while.
18. I think I bring a good attitude and activity to any team. I'll make sure to get my tasks done and have my TPE up, and I enjoy writing, so I can get myself extra $ in the media section of things. In general I have a good attitude. I don't need to be the center of attention or play a star position or anything like that, I just like being a good contributor and having a role on a team that lets me do something. At the end of the day it's a game, and I think getting to play it in the first place is what inherently makes it fun. Whether that's grinding down and playing oline because that's what the team needs, or making a position switch to fill a new hole in the roster, I like to think that I have a pretty good energy with this stuff and am always a team player.
26. If Big Tractor wasn't playing pro football, he could have an opportunity to turn to another professional sport: competitive eating. With his shocking victory over an aging Joey Chestnut in a local pancake eating event, he definitely showed the potential to flip his latent talents into a real career. His name would also suit him well in being a farm equipment salesmen. Maybe he could bank on his small legacy at SMU to do a few ads for some local tractor supplies companies before joining the white-collar ranks to sell equipment. He'd be a lot like Hank Hill, but instead of propane it's tractors or silos or septic tanks or something. Maybe he could even mix the two, turning semi-pro in competitive eating where he goes around to competitions on the weekends, while during the week he's a humble salesman. I wouldn't say that the sky is the limit for him outside of football, but in north Texas being a college football player can get you going a long way in the ag business scene, so he would have a chance to do something there.
