Marty Crane has had a relatively brief ISFL career so far having only been called up last year. He had spent the prior few seasons in Dallas helping the Birddogs fight hard to look like champs in the regular season only to get smoked in the playoffs by Tijuana or some other joke organization. Crane never made much of an impact in the minors at RB due to the team splitting carries for the two seasons he was in the backfield despite his great YPC. When switching to the defensive side of the ball, they slotted him in at SS where he helped the team, but the stats were far from sexy. Last year, when Chicago brass called him up, they had a clear plan for Marty: let the kid play. And play he did. Marty smacked the cover off the ball in his first year at FS registering 7 INTs among other impressive stats landing him on the First Team All Pro roster and winning the DRPY award. It was a hell of a season for the kid many had given up on and one that Marty will fondly remember his entire career.
So Dason Dehorn (Now Bull Dozier) has not played very long, and is yet to take an ISFL snap, so his time in the league has been limited. He also played CB, a thankless position, that is marked more by its lows than its highs. Nonetheless, he still had his moments. He had his first game and PD and such, he had a fabulous run through weeks 11 to 13, giving up puny numbers of yards and holding elite receivers to miniscule stat lines. However, the thing he'll remember most was his first pick against the Portland Pythons in week 12. Portland was lined up to score. Across the line of scrimmage from Dason Dehorn was future number one overall pick in the ISFL draft, Brad Woof. Dehorn didn't give a crap though as he picked that ball off which helped lead the Minnesota Grey ducks to a decisive victory.
I could talk about a lot of things from my long ISFL career, from making the Ultimini in my first ever season to the Kick Return Walk-off. One thing I will always be proud of however was my Ultimini win with the Norfolk Seawolves with Jack McPherson, my first ever title in the league. It was a great group of people to be with, and the season was one of the most fun in the career I've had. Another thing of course would be the Ultimus win with Yellowkinfe where we had one of the best defenses in league history, or when my player Speedy Gizmo helped Honolulu win another Ultimus.
I guess other than that, most of my best memories of my ISFL career has been the people I have interacted with and the friends I have made. Without this league, I would not have met people like Bayley, Katarn, Valor and many others. So, thank you ISFL and here's to the future and many more seasons to come!
The memory I’m most fond of is still winning the Ultimini with London during my 2nd season. The locker room was constantly active with great users like @Crunk @abh89 @katarn22 @Yeenoghu and @Swanty . We all worked so hard that season sim testing like crazy, grinding out every last half percentage we could. It was an incredible environment as we all pushed each other to be better. That list of users all coming from 2 draft classes will go down as one of the best in league history. Everyone in that list has contributed massively to this league and its growth and without those guys, I probably would’ve gone IA. Winning the Ultimus was the culmination of all our efforts and being rewarded with a trophy meant so much to all of us. We were partying in the locker room throughout the night and I’ll always remember that moment as the time I truly fell in love with the league.
My own history in the league isn't terribly long, though I suppose at this point I've reached veteran status as I'm about a quarter of my way into my second player's career. I was promised that the league would be halfway between fantasy football and D&D by @RussDrivesTheBus, and while I think I've come up with more accurate descriptions since then that original one still holds true. Granted, once I started getting more invested in the league the D&D roleplaying side of my player was left somewhat by the wayside in favor of league jobs. The biggest one, of course, being GM of Minnesota, Kansas City, and now Yellowknife (and the Ultimus we won along the way), but the real investment I've made into this league is in the form of ISFL fantasy football. Discovering how it worked, getting more involved, and starting to create my own yearly ranking sheet has become an obsession of mine. I'm proud to have ascended to fantasy overlord status as co-commissioner of both ISFL redraft and dynasty fantasy football, and I think my contributions there are going to be my greatest lasting impact on the league.
What am I most fond of? Definitely the relationships and friendships I've formed since I've joined. @IceBear32 has become a real homie to me. @oilmandan has been a real homie and I'm happy to see him come back full force in this league. I've had so much fun with so many people from the Honolulu LR. From @LtHudz & @jdc4654 & @IceBear32 doing the poopy kaka (Rocket League) to having welcome week every season when the Keiki pop in. It would be hard not to include the Ultimus wins I've had as a GM, but even the seasons that didn't end with us on top were still memorable with having such an amazing atmosphere in HON. I'm happy to have brought Town of Salem to the league with it still going strong having a new game every week. Where else would I be able to take out my frustrations with @toofpete and @Dewalt27 for saying they'll game with me but then run away when I show up. wolf.vote them bozos.
I've only been in the ISFL for a very short while so my memories are pretty few thus far. But I've had a tremendous experience thus far between the TIJ and CTC locker rooms. Everyone has been incredibly welcoming and active throughout both locker rooms. My players favorite memory thus far has to easily be the Ultimini Championship for the Luchadores in his first season coming off the waiver wire. Luke in fact didn't lose a football game until midway through his first full season in the DSFL. Luke's fondest memory thus far in the ISFL was his first game in the league where he managed to contribute with a sack. Somehow he has 2 sacks through his first two ISFL games. Only 9 seasons of averaging a sack per game to break the DL sacks record! Ultimately I want to thank Slothfacekilla the most for getting me into the league and showing me the ways of Tijuana.

Being on my third player I do not know if I can call myself one of the old guys just set. But seeing that I joined right around the 25th season I think there are a lot of nice things to look back upon. Nothing can ever replace the first player and the first time joining this league for me. The thrill of trying something new right in the boredom that COVID put on us all and having a new community to join and new friends to make was amazing. Suddenly feeling like a real player and getting scouted by all these teams, getting asked all the questions and actually getting drafted was pretty amazing. Though I think one of the best memories to here will always be the friends I made along the way. Not only in the league and on Discords, but some of the friendships formed here go much further by now with meeting up with them in real life, going to concerts and sharing hobby. So happy 50th season soon ISFL, may you stick around for much, much longer and give other people the same positive experiences that I got from it!
