I've had discussions with our GM, @UptownCord, about these concerns. While those talks are ongoin’, I want to emphasise that my intention here is not to create division but to seek clarity and fairness regardin’ my role on this team. My agent has been vocal but the goal has always been to ensure my career trajectory aligns with my aspirations and abilities.

Hammerfall’s Agent: Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for joining us today. We have a statement from Reginald Hammerfall, running back for the Orange County Otters, who will be addressing recent speculation regarding his future with the team. After his statement, we will open the floor for a few questions. Reginald?
Reginald Hammerfall: [Reading from statement] Thank you. First, I want to thank everyone for comin’ today. I understand there may have been some speculation and rumours circulatin’ about my future with the Orange County Otters, and I felt it was important to address these directly.
I've spent the past three seasons with the Otters since bein’ drafted in the first round back in Season 47. I was honoured to be called up immediately, but I'll admit, my role that season was not what I had in mind for my first season in the league. Startin’ just 9 games and havin’ just 14 rushin’ attempts was a tough pill to swallow, especially comin’ in as a replacement for a star like Leandre Diarra. I had just led the DSFL in rushin’ touchdowns so whilst I knew it was a big step up to the ISFL it wasn’t easy. It was difficult to watch from the sidelines while Reginald Shrubbery, had an incredible Pro Bowl year. I felt my potential and abilities were not fully utilised, and this impacted my rookie season and my career trajectory. [Going off script] It ultimately meant I was never in the mix for any DSFL awards, ISFL rookie awards.. none of that. And I can swallow that for the good of the team, y’know? We was competitors, look at the guys we had!
[Reading from statement] But the next season we unexpectedly entered a complete rebuild as a team. So many of our vets moved on to chase a championship elsewhere. It was all torn down. The Otters drafted Animal Blundetto, and he’s a talented back [aside] and we get along great... with their first pick of the draft. I started 11 games that year and had 192 attempts for 742 yards and 11 touchdowns. I could finally see some progress, some improvement even if that was in what felt like a brand new team. It felt great to contribute more significantly and see our runnin’ back committee drivin’ the team's success. My development in trainin’ outpaced Blundetto's, and I was optimistic about our future. [Going off script] Blundetto got a fair run at things and saw a lot more of the field than I did my rookie year. 4 touchdowns and over 500 all purpose yards.. I would have loved that opportunity.
[Reading from statement] However, this season has been challengin’. I've been relegated to a more limited role behind Blundetto, despite my continued development and readiness to contribute at a high level. My opportunities on the field have been severely restricted, and it's been frustratin’ to see fewer attempts and yards than last year. [Going off script] I’m lookin’ at what, 600 yards and 50 less attempts than last season!? Naw.. [Reading from statement] I believe I have a lot to offer, and it’s difficult to feel sidelined and undervalued.
That said, I am considerin’ all my options, includin’ free agency at the end of this season. It's not a decision I take lightly, and my commitment to the Otters has never wavered. I grew up in a family that valued humility, hard work, and sacrifice for the greater good. I’ve always been a team player, and I will continue to give my all for the Otters as long as I wear this jersey.
In closin’, I want to downplay the notion that I am eager to leave. My focus remains on helpin’ this team succeed, and I hope to find a resolution that allows me to contribute fully to our goals. I appreciate the support of the fans, my teammates, and the entire Otters organisation durin’ this time. Thank you, and I’ll take a few questions now.
Hammerfall’s Agent: Please raise your hand, and I'll call on you for questions.
Reporter 1: Reginald, do you feel there's a chance you can resolve things with the Otters and stay with the team?
Hammerfall: Absolutely. I'm hopeful that through ongoin’ discussions, we can find a solution that works for both me and the team. I love bein’ an Otter, and I believe we can achieve great things together.Reporter 2: How do you feel about the team's decision to draft Animal Blundetto, and has it affected your perspective on your role?
Hammerfall: Animal is a great player, and I respect his talent. My perspective on my role is shaped by my desire to contribute more and help the team win. I want to see the field more and play a significant part in our success.
Reporter 3: What would you say to the fans who might be concerned about you leaving?
Hammerfall: To the fans, I would say thank you for your unwaverin’ support. My goal is to stay and help this team win more championships. I appreciate your understandin’ and patience as we work through this.Reporter 4: Do you feel that your frustration with your current role might impact team morale?
Hammerfall: It's always a balance. I believe in open communication and addressin’ issues head-on. My frustration is not with my teammates—it's with the situation. I think bein’ honest about how I feel can ultimately lead to a better environment for all of us. We all want to win, and sometimes that means havin’ tough conversations to make sure everyone is bein’ utilised to their full potential.Reporter 5: If you do enter free agency, what will you be looking for in a new team?
Hammerfall: I'm lookin’ for a team that values my contributions and sees me as a key player in their offensive strategy. I want to be on the field makin’ an impact, helpin’ to drive the team towards championships. Competitors or rebuilders I am here to contribute. Respect, fair opportunities, and a shared vision for success are crucial for me.Reporter 6: Can you share any details about your discussions with GM UptownCord?
Hammerfall: I'd prefer to keep the specifics of our conversations private, but I can tell you that they have been candid and focused on findin’ the best path forward for both me and the team. UptownCord and I both want what's best for the Otters, and we're workin’ towards a resolution that reflects that. I respect UptownCord and he's a bang up guy that's trying to do what he gotta do to get the Otters competitive again. Reggie’s ready to rumble, peace out.Hammerfall’s Agent: Thank you, everyone. That concludes today’s press conference.
