It's been a long offseason for the Jet, but that doesn't mean that he let complacency set in. Colorado is 1-31 in their last 32 games, but after three straight elite drafts, this season is looking like it could be the beginning of something special. Jet has fully bought into that future, which means the offseason was spent grinding film and putting himself through grueling workouts. Losing is not something that Jet is used to dealing with, and the thought of going through another losing season is motivation enough to push himself as hard as he can. Larsen has been on record saying that he plays footage of his losses in his home gym to help motivate him.
That being said, Jet did take some time right after the season ended to spend with his family. The Larsen family travelled to Cedar Point, near where Jet grew up. As a child, roller coasters always fascinated him and day trips to Cedar Point were always the highlight of his summer. The hope is that this trip will help ground him again and have him mentally ready for the upcoming season. In Season 50, Jet is ready to make a name for himself in the ISFL.
Throughout his football career Martavius Spencer has thrived on his natural abilities and as a result spent the majority of his football off seasons partying, doing what he wanted and not spending a single minute thinking about football. That changed this off season. Toward the end of S49 Spencer was notified by his ISFL GMs in Cape Town that they were planning on calling him up from the DSFL and something switched in Spencer's head. This off season he got to work and locked in to football and football only. He made sure to get his defensive playbook early from coaches to start studying and contacted experienced Crash team members to organize off season practices to put that studying into functional practice. In addition to practices and playbooks Spencer got into the weight room like he never has before hitting the gym twice a day 6 days a week. He also hired a private chef to ensure his diet was dialled. Big season incoming. (161 words)
My offseason was filled with learning a new position as i moved from safety to cornerback .even thou I was playing corner for a season I was still training like a safety so my goals were simple get faster and improve my man coverage skills the amount of 1vs1 against Ericksen and Novak would blow your mind and slowly but surely I was beginning to stick to them like glue as far as my speed i cut some weight that might affect my tackling but improved my forty time from 4.38 to 4.28 . The position change has been an adjustment going from playing 15 yards off the ball to play to basically a face off every play it requires a short memory and fast reactions
I also had to Visiting Yellowknife as well to meet with my new team and discuss the plan on when I would transfer over and meet my new teammates
DJ Maclean is a team player first, he’s always looking for ways he can better help the SaberCats improve. Despite winning back to back to back Defensive Player of the Year awards, the teams inability to get one over on Arizona in the playoffs has been bothering him.
Obviously, at the start of the off season, DJ gave himself time to relax and unwind, rest his body. He’s getting old, don’t you know! But then he got to work, not just on himself though. Obviously, he went through his usual off season workout schedule, building himself back up, ready to represent the Green and Gold on the field to the best of his ability. But he’s also been watching lots of tape of those damn Outlaws. Especially the SaberCats pair of regular season victories over them last season. What was different between those games and the playoffs? Also, looking at how NOLA managed to put them away the past 2 seasons, see if he can glean anything from that.
Taylor's Boyfriend's Brother was coming into this off-season after a two year bender in Tijuana. After winning the Championship his first year, the Luchadores had a bit of a hangover and were unable to replicate the success they had. TBB looked forward as he was signed and promoted to the Balitmore Hawks. He looked forward to finally making the ISFL, and swore off the booze, even if just for the off-season. TBB travelled to Baltimore the moment he heard this and begun training with the rest of the O-Line. He got into game-shape relatively quickly, and was looking better than ever. While TBB did look over the playbook, he was more focused on building relationships with his teammates, the one's he was prepared to go to war with. TBB is just couch surfing as of right now, as he looks for his next contract to be deposited - however, he used the previous contract on his gym membership and food to earn more "Strength".
What did Marshall von Hildebrand do to pass the time during (or the make the most of) the offseason? Well, there's only so much that a kicker can do to. Really, the most important thing is to stay fresh and to keep flexible. Because there really are only so many ways to kick the ball as a kicker. And most of your training is focused on doing the same thing consistently. So that was a focus for von Hildebrand, but really his bigger focus was on the mental aspect of the game. While the mechanics are largely the same for every kicker and you can get incrimentally better slowly, every kicker has to perform under incredible pressure. So von Hildebrand spent time this off season getting himself right mentally. That involved working with an individual therapist, a sports psychologist, and engaging in meditation and mindfulness exercises. To the extent he could, he would simulate high pressure situations and work on his consistency. Hopefully this pays off in the big moments this season.
Thigpen needed some well-earned rest after another long and physical football season left his body battered and bruised. As soon as the offseason began he knew he need to spent at least the first two weeks spending some of his big contract on a relaxing vacation with his girlfriend. They knew they wanted a tropical paradise, and after some debate they ended up choosing Jamaica as their vacation destination. Crystal clear blue water and white sand beaches can be found in a lot of places, but where else can you get the most flavorful jerk chicken in the world. The first night they arrived Thigpen finally decided to cut off his football diet and enjoy everything he generally abstains from - particularly sugary drinks and alcohol. The piña coladas were flowing and it wasn't long before Thigpen ended up in the hotel bathroom puking in the toilet. Turns out your tolerance goes down when you go a year without drinking. One hangover, a few sunburns and pounds of jerk chicken later - Thigpen flew back to Austin to return to the grindstone and get ready for his sixth season and the 50th of the ISFL.
Feka Ohi Kau has spent the beginning of his career largely unmotivated. A lack of focus and drive through his first two seasons was obvious, yet he was still drafted to the ISFL. Now being on an ISFL team, his spark was reignited and he gained the drive to start grinding this offseason. Although he was in baseball season, he still practiced football drills every day and lifted 6 days a week, going swimming on his off day for recovery. Although he came into the DSFL fairly raw, and as an offensive line prospect, his baseball background lead him to also be able to pick up catching the football just a bit and so he made the move to tight end. Working on his hands has been the biggest focus this season as to take the next step in his career, he needs to be able to use his size and athleticism to catch the ball, and his hands are what is currently holding him back.
