Now entering the twilight of his career, Max took a much needed break with his family during the offseason. As he is was about to enter his 9th season in the ISFL and 11th overall including his two DSFL seasons, Max decided that taking some time to reflect on his career and work life balance was a necessary evil. He came to the bittersweet realization that he is no longer the star linebacker in Sarasota and even though he physically passed the torch last season to the two younger star linebackers (@110radio and @ProdigalSon) on the team, he mentally passed the torch this offseason knowing he would never get back to his former glory of one of the top linebackers in the ISFL.
Having come to this realization, he spent time with his wife and two sons this offseason to decompress from the rigors of an arduous ISFL season and career in one of the hardest and most competitive positions in the league. After his break though, he has found an inner fire and second wind if you will to help the team even as a role player at this point because while he was once the young rising ISFL star linebacker, he remembered the aging veterans in Sarasota who came before him and who were also once stars in their own right. They helped mold him into the player he is and they themselves found a second life in being role players who supported their rising teammates and trying to help take Sarasota to the promised land of an Ultimus victory. This is Max's new take on his role in Sarasota and hopes he can live up to the honor of those amazing veterans who helped him get to where he is today.
