Game of The Week (Probably of the year): Yeti Stumble in Paradise, Hahalua Rally from the Depths for Stunning 37-31 Victory
In an amazing comeback, the Honolulu edged out the Yeti, winning 37-31 in overtime. The matchup started off with a surprising safety for Hahalua when Katya Zamolodchikova got tackled in the end zone by Lasse Zeigler. Soon after, Zamolodchikova recovered and connected with Tim Riggins for a touchdown pass, putting the Yeti ahead 7-2. The Yeti added a field goal from Cameron Oswald-Newton to keep building their lead.
During the second quarter, the Yeti really found its groove. Zamolodchikova threw a 76-yard touchdown to Riggins. Things kept rolling when SkibidiGyat OhioRizzler returned an interception for a touchdown, pushing the score to 31-9. The Honolulu managed to score a couple touchdowns, but they still faced a significant 31-16 deficit at halftime.
After the break, Honolulu came alive and with vengeance. McRobinson connected with Brad Woof for a 19-yard touchdown, closing the gap to 31-23. In the fourth quarter, they tied the game at 31-31 with another touchdown pass from McRobinson to Tyler Higbee II, forcing overtime.
In the extra quarter, both teams battled hard. The game was decided when Stetson David rushed for an 11-yard touchdown, giving Hahalua the victory at 37-31. Lenard McRobinson was named Offensive Player of the Game for his impressive performance which included 4 total touchdowns and 300+ total yards. Honolulu's defense also stepped out shutting out the Yeti in the second half.
So Close: Orange County Struggles to Stay Afloat, Sailfish Keep Otters Winless at 27-21
In a game that was much closer than anticipated, the Sailfish emerged victorious with a final score of 27-21. The game was characterized by strong performances on both sides, but ultimately the Sailfish managed to pull ahead in the critical moments. The first quarter kicked off with both teams exchanging touchdowns, as William Strong connected with quarterback Lloyd Bannings for a 15-yard touchdown pass, giving the Otters an early lead. However, the Sailfish quickly answered back with a 7-yard touchdown reception by Sam Mercury, tying the game at 7-7.
As the second quarter progressed, the Otters initially regained control, with kicker King Leonidas I successfully converting two field goals. Yet, the Sailfish rallied late in the quarter, scoring two touchdowns, including a 3-yard pass from Bugs to Léopold Roy and a 1-yard rushing touchdown by Ace Anderson, closing the half with a 21-13 advantage. The third quarter saw the Otters fight back, with William Strong finding the end zone again with a 1-yard run, leveling the score at 21 thanks to a successful 2-point conversion. However, the Sailfish maintained their composure and regained the lead with a 26-yard field goal from Marshall von Hildebrand late in the quarter, bringing the score to 24-21.
In the fourth quarter, the Sailfish added another field goal from von Hildebrand to secure their lead at 27-21. Despite the Otters' efforts to mount a comeback, including a strong performance from their defense led by Maxwell Jacob Friedman, the Sailfish held firm, ultimately sealing their victory. Sam Mercury was named the offensive player of the game, recording five receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown, while Friedman shone on defense with five tackles, a sack, and an interception, earning him the defensive player of the game honors. With this win, the Sailfish continue their fight for the first seed in the NSFC while the Otters came so close to getting their first win on the season.
They're still good: Outlaws Run Wild, Arizona Rides a Four-Game Streak Over the Wraiths!
The Outlaws triumphed over the Wraiths with a final score of 37 to 24 to keep their hot streak alive. The game began with a strong offensive display from the Outlaws, who jumped to an early lead. Quarterback Puddles O'Duck showcased his passing ability, connecting with Benji Aguilera for an 8-yard touchdown pass and then finding Harvin Marrison for a huge 41-yard strike, putting the Outlaws ahead 14-0 in the first quarter. The Wraiths managed to get on the board with a 20-yard field goal from Space Dino, but the Outlaws quickly responded with another touchdown, this time a 1-yard run from Purdy Mediocre, ending the first quarter with a 21-3 lead.
As the second quarter progressed, the Outlaws maintained their momentum, with Bertie Mannering-Phipps rushing for a 2-yard touchdown to extend their lead. However, the Wraiths fought back with a 35-yard touchdown pass from Maximus Boudreaux to Lane Wilson, cutting the deficit to 28-10. Wynn Jenkins added a field goal before halftime, leaving the score at 31-10. In the third quarter, the Wraiths continued their rally with a 6-yard touchdown pass from Boudreaux to Nick Williams, narrowing the score to 34-17 after a field goal by Jenkins.
The final quarter saw the Outlaws adding another field goal, bringing the score to 37-17, before Maximus Boudreaux connected with Silence Suzuka for a 9-yard touchdown pass, finishing the game at 37-24. Boudreaux, despite the loss, was recognized as the Offensive Player of the Game completing 30 of 44 passes for 292 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Outlaws are finding their stride and I don't think anyone wants to play them right now.

League Overview
In the ASFC, the Austin Copperheads are heating up, extending their win streak to two and boosting their record to 6-2, thanks to an ironclad defense. At home, they’re untouchable (4-0), and they’ve put up 206 points while giving up only 160, the best defensive numbers in the league. But their next challenge? A clash with the blazing Arizona Outlaws in a classic #1 defense versus #1 offense showdown. Buckle up! Honolulu Hahalua also sits at 6-2, bouncing back after a scary close-call victory. Despite racking up 240 points, their defense has shown cracks, surrendering 219. They can’t afford another close call like their nail-biter against a bottom-tier team—was that just an off day, or a sign of trouble? Speaking of the Outlaws from earlier, they are on a tear with a four-game winning streak making them the most dangerous team in the conference at 5-2-1. No one wants to face them right now—they’re a freight train with no brakes! Meanwhile, the New York Silverbacks have lost their spark, dropping two in a row and falling to 4-3-1. With tough matchups against Honolulu and the Outlaws looming, their bounce-back hopes look slim. The San Jose SaberCats are in freefall, suffering four consecutive losses to slide to 3-5. On the flip side, the New Orleans Secondline is showing signs of life with back-to-back wins, climbing to 3-5 to tie the struggling SaberCats. And then there's Orange County. The Otters are still winless at 0-8, with an eye-popping 343 points allowed this year already. Things just keep getting worse for them, especially after tasting victory this week.
Over in the NSFC, the Yellowknife Wraiths had their first loss in four weeks, dropping to 6-2. Still, they’re one of the most balanced teams around with the second-best offense and third-best defense in the league, but with tough games ahead against the Hawks and Sailfish. We’ll see if that loss shakes their confidence. The Baltimore Hawks (5-3) are locked in a fierce three-way tie for the second seed after a tough loss. Meanwhile, the Sarasota Sailfish and Cape Town Crash have clawed their way to 5-3 as well, each eyeing a playoff push. The Osaka Kaiju (4-4) are back at .500 with a two-game win streak, while the Colorado Yeti, despite an offense that’s ranked 5th in the league, have struggled defensively and fallen to 2-6. And then there’s the Berlin Fire Salamanders who are 1-7 and don't seem to be making any noise this season.
