You know, I’ve been in this business a long time and one of the things I’ve learned is you don’t second guess great franchises. We like to think that we know more than the people who make the decisions at this team, but you know, we really don’t. It’s like in a marriage, you always have those people who are in a couple that don’t work that look at other couples that are doing good and make judgements ; “oh I think they should be doing this, did you see the way they acted at dinner?” And you know how many problems they’ve got going on? Anyway, I was thinking about this earlier. One of the biggest stories in the league this offseason was everyone taking their turn to laugh at San Jose for letting Rich Triplet go. “You can’t let him go he’s one of the best young cornerbacks in the league???” San Jose took a look at the situation and thought; “you know what, I’m good”. They let him be someone else’s problem.

I called it when this happened, but folks didn’t want to believe me. “Oh Colin’s lost it, he thinks that San Jose letting Rich Triplet go was a good move”!. And now look where we are. Triplet is underperforming and getting paid a ton of money by the Outlaws. You remember the last time Arizona won an Ultimus? I don’t. But I do remember San Jose winning two of them, and sometimes you just have to trust that the management of these teams know what they’re doing. What would you rather have, cap space and draft picks to add new talent, or a guy like Rich Triplet who’s making a ton of money and underperforming. I think I know which one I’m going to choose.
