Hello ISFL! I hope you are enjoying the new HOF process, I quite enjoyed presenting those that made it on the awards stream and feel it’s a great way to honor. Due to the switch this class includes all those eligible for both S35 and S36 inductions. All the images are marked with S36 as they are technically being inducted then.
As a quick summary, in order to be inducted into the Hall of Fame a player needs to be voted in by 2/3 of voters - if they receive 1/3 of the votes they will stay on the ballot for the next season.
As was passed in the S23 Rules Summit, we have formed a Hall of Fame Committee! The committee this season was made up of Infinitempg,Woelkers, daybe, Frostbite, JuOSu, manicmav36, nunccoepi, modern_duke, and Kotasa!
With these nine, our requirements are 6 votes to be inducted and 3 votes to stay on the ballot.
Note: As was noted in the S29 Open Newsletter, the general user base can now nominate players, general managers, and user contributors for consideration or re-consideration to the Hall of Fame! Publicly-submitted nominees must be sponsored by a HOF Committee member to be entered into the voting process. You can click HERE to nominate someone for consideration to the S34 ballot. Any players/general managers/user contributors that make it to the ballot via this method will be denoted with a †. As an additional note, players will still have to receive approval from half of the committee after being sponsored by a committee member to proceed to the final ballot.
Now, I"m pleased to introduce our newest members of the International Simulation Football League Hall of Fame! Welcome to the Hall of Fame:
James Angler,Was selected 50th overall in the the 5th round of the S22 ISFL draft by the Sarasota Sailfish and was Sarasota’s 5th selection of their inaugural draft. While thrilled at the time of selection, the Sailfish were far more thrilled after the years of production Angler would give them. Angler was a six time pro bowler and also received two Tight End of the Year awards. Angler was also a big part of Sarasota’s postseason success and how they brought home the S27 Ultimus trophy. Angler currently sits 7th in postseason receptions, 17th in yards and 19th in targets. In addition Angler is 26th in all time receptions, which for a Tight End competing against some of the best Wide Receivers in the history of the league is all the more impressive. Angler goes down as one of the greatest Tight Ends to ever play the game.

If this wasn’t enough Lim also captured three WIde Receiver of the Year awards during their time with the Yeti. Lim comes in at 5th in all-time receptions, 3rd in all-time yards, and 3rd in all-time touchdowns. One of the greatest to ever do it Lim enters the hall.

Andrew Witten was selected 12th overall in the first round of the S22 ISFL draft by the New Orleans Second Line. Witten was an all-around great cornerback for the Second Line during his tenure with them. Witten was a five time pro bowler at a very competitive position, along with being the Cornerback of the Year in S27. Witten also notched a Performance of the Year award in S29 for his week 14 performance against the Orange County Otters. Witten currently ranks 6th in all-time interceptions with 36 and 7th in all-time pass deflections with 209. A true student of the game Witten was a do it all lock down defender for the Second Line and brings that pedigree into the Hall of Fame.

Mat Akselsen was selected 35th in the 6th round of the inaugural S1 NSFL draft by the Yellowknife Wraiths, while initially an offensive lineman, Akselsen switched to Quarterback during S4, and Yellowknife did not regret this decision as it would help them to their first championship in S8. At the time of retirement Akselsen was 4th in career passing yards, 4th in career passing touchdowns, and 6th in career passer rating. Akselsen was a seven time pro bowler, and also won a MVP, Offensive Player of the Year, and Quarterback of the Year all in S7. Fellow Hall of Famer Franklin Armstrong is on record stating Akselsen was an inspiration for his playstyle as Akselsen was one of the first rushing Quarterbacks having 35 TDs in his career on the ground. A long overdue introduction into the Hall, Akselsen finally enters.

S36 Hall of Fame Ballot Results

(S1) - Mat Akselsen - QB - Bzerkap
(S1-S9)
(S1-S9)
(S10)
