Also on this subject. And I know the 80% thing is a sore subject right now, but might we be moving this in the wrong direction? We're trying to balance rushing and passing to make passing more valuable and you want to give teams the option to rush 33% less? This coming from the top passing team in the league btw.
The thing about the yardage adjustment sliders is that they don't stop what is the most damaging part of the passing game, the deep catch and runs for 40+ yards. All that slider does is shorten the average route. So a passing game becomes 5 catches for 2 yards and then a deep catch for 60 yards. If anything it only increases the RNG of an outcome by how often a team gets a lucky deep route. And it's lame and boring to watch.
Really what we should pursue to devalue passing is bring the max pass down to 60% and still use the rushing adjustment slider to increase the YPC of the run game. This way teams are required to rush more and we get more value from a more balanced team.
