Noah Goodson was drafted 1st overall by the Arizona Outlaws. I was hyped to go to Arizona, one of the people I've known longest in sim leagues was managing Arizona, Dwyer. I was glad to be on a team that had won championship after championship. Eventually, it came apparent that there was some multi'ing going on in Arizona, and it was never the same after that. Management changed and ushered in a new era. I was never really close with the team, but I tried to remain interested and hyped. Goodson had a great rookie season, it was better than his sophomore season. With new management, we came to discuss the next contract for Noah Goodson. I told them I wanted to wait until the off-season I was a free-agent to really discuss the next contract. I didn't actually have any plans to leave Arizona, I'm a loyal guy. I just wanted to go to Free Agency and do all the media involved with that, for once. I told the management this and they agreed to it. Fast forward to halfway through S5 and I was informed that I needed to sign a contract or I'd be traded. I was a bit taken back, this management told me I could wait until free agency, and it would all be good. I signed out of instinct, I didn't really want to leave Arizona. This kind of left a sour taste with me. I was told I could go to free agency, but then told I would be traded in the midst of Season 5 if I didn't re-sign. I reluctantly re-signed, but I knew I wouldn't be happy in Arizona long term. After thinking a while, I told management to trade me, because I was 100% going to free agency when my contract was up. I wasn't going to hang out with a team that promised me one thing, then recanted and forced me to re-sign on the spot.
I'm a loyal player, and I want to be somewhere I'm respected; and ultimately, I felt that Arizona wasn't the team for me. There are some good people there still, but I don't think my wishes were respected. I'm fortunate to be on the Baltimore Hawks, and so far, the team has been very welcoming and respectful. I'm not asking for a lot out of my team, just to not go back on their words. If management is upfront with me, and honors my wishes, I'll likely help them out as much as possible. The Baltimore Hawks have been looking like the next franchise I'll re-sign with. That said, I still intend on going to free agency and see what Noah Goodson is worth. Through my sim league experiences, I haven't had the chance to go to free agency, and I'm looking forward to the media and the offers. Ultimately, from a team, what I want most is for my wishes to be respected. I felt pretty betrayed after being told I could go to free agency, then threatened with being traded mid-season. That's a management misstep 101, going back on your word.
I expect to contribute in Baltimore. As a rookie, my player had an amazing season. That might have been attributed to some of Arizona's cheating with multis, or it could have been the raw talent that Noah Goodson possess. This next season as a Hawk should show the NSFL what Noah Goodson is capable of. The Baltimore fans can expect a talented linebacker that is committed to winning and constantly improving, training every week to be the best linebacker of the NSFL.
