Being from Jersey, I'm used to the nor'easter and the increasingly often hurricane hitting us. But oh man, blizzard season in Colorado is something. After getting a new contract and settling in the area, I made sure to get snow tires for my car, and immediately went to the store to get a slow cooker and some canned soups. I also got a small generator, because after Sandy, I knew what having no power in the cold felt like. It's nice to live in a small complex of townhouses, though. Not only do I save money by not buying a whole house yet, I also don't have to do too much shoveling! So no snowblower for me, just a good quality shovel to take care of my steps and get my car out of a bind.
I got to be honest, I'll take lots of snow over hurricanes every day of the week.
