The Orange County Otters have been a dominant force in the NSFL for 8 seasons now, but a tide of change may be looming on the horizon. Behemoth stars like Angus Winchester, Mike Boss, Robert Phelps and Bradley Westfield are aging. Ian Bavitz has already announced his retirement. Regression is upon them and soon they're going to have to figure out how to keep that talent level competitive. Considering the retooling that New Orleans is going through and the work that San Jose and Arizona are going through for their own rebuilding phases, Orange County is going to have to make some adjustments if they want to stay competitive. They've done well in acquiring free agents and trading for younger players. If they can continue to keep ahead of the aging curve at QB and LB, this will be instrumental in maintaining their strength within the division. In addition to adding new players with league experience, being able to draft young fresh talent into the locker room from the DSFL is vital to the future of the franchise. Orange County has had relatively good luck with drafting players in the past, so continuing this process moving forward shouldn't be terribly difficult. If they follow this format, they will be in the running for the Ultimus for years to come.
