Let’s talk about the New Orleans Second Line. Last year, they fucking sucked. That’s not very nice, but honesty is more important than politeness, and sugar-coating it isn’t doing them any favors. No point dancing around it, they were 4-10, tied for second-worst with only 304 points for. The only thing that kept them from picking first overall was the Colorado Yeti’s intrepid determination to suck harder than a hoover.
Doctor Bovo worked his crazy wizard magic this past offseason and during this season, though, and the Second Line are looking first-rate. A few key moves, as well as the continued progression of retained players have made all the difference.
One major addition was the man the aforementioned second overall pick brought in, safety William H Harrison. Adding him rounded out the secondary, and the defense has seen significant improvement.
A sneaky move that had a domino effect of repercussions was the addition of running back Darren Smallwood. Smallwood is a shifty back with great vision, good hands and a motor that never stops. He adds a whole new dimension to the offense. More importantly, his presence allowed long time running back Ardie Savea to make the transition to Tight End. This move gives the Second Line a deadly duo of tight ends that make for a real matchup problem.
