I think one of the obvious members of the Hall of Fame will be Dermot Lavelle. He will be inducted not only for performance on the field, but longevity of career, personal accolades, and team performance. Let's tackle these individually.
Even though CB is a tough position to play in the NSFL, Dermot has played for all 8 so far and I truly believe he can stretch his career to an unheard of 12th season. That's a length of career that will only be rivaled by linebackers, defensive lineman, and running back. Which is what will make the accomplishment, the fact that he did it at a high TPE demand position of CB.
His performance on the field is unquestioned as he leagues the league in interceptions with 34. He is also by far the leader in interception return yards with 845, compared to 568 in second place. He's also in second place all time with 7 defensive touchdowns. But not only is he a defensive wizard, he has also been a contributor on offense the past two seasons. Also, Dermot would have my head if I did not mention his return contributions. Third in career punt return yards, second in touchdowns, with the fourth longest punt return in NSFL history. He also top ten in career kick return yards.
He was the number 1 overall pick in the S2 draft after the Wraiths traded up to secure his rights. He has made the pro bowl every single one of his eight seasons.
His teams have also been successful. A combined 72-39-1, with one ultimus championship. He was a part of the S7 Wraiths that tied the best regular season record in NSFL history at 13-1. He was also part of the top scoring defense for two seasons.
Whether it be personal or team success, Dermot Lavelle is a first ballot hall of famer.
