Alright, I’m gonna run it back and select a name that I don’t think anyone has brought up. A man that was instrumental in the early days of the league even if time hasn’t been kind to him. He’s not retired yet, I believe, but he will be soon. And he will make a great addition when that time comes.
Former YKW Running Back Bubba Nuck
For starters, Nuck was the league’s first-ever MVP. In a game dominated by Quarterbacks, he brought respect to the RB position and set the standard that all other RBs would go on to follow. As a rookie RB myself, I looked up to him and had the honor of being mentored by him. He was a team player and sought not just to rack up numbers, but to make the people around him better. It was not in his best interest to take the young RB that would later go on to challenge him under his wing, but he did it anyway because he knew it was good for the team and good for the league.
Nuck would go on to play a smaller role after his first 4 seasons, but he was a force to be reckoned with in that time and still played a key role in the YKW offense afterwards. In his final season as starter, he was traded to the Yeti in S7 and helped fill that role while they searched for a replacement for former RB Boss Tweed. Let’s raise a glass to this man and hope that he will be properly honored when the time comes.
