Running Back Controversy in Yellowknife:
Rumours abound have floated of a controversy in the great white North of Yellowknife. Before the season, everybody would have walked into it going the unanimous number one back of the Wraiths was General Manager Bubba Nuck. That "fact" doesn't seem to be so unanimous anymore after they selected power running back Jack Stats. A late round pick, it didn't seem like there would be any kind of running back controversy still. Nuck was considered a generation talent at halfback with Stats being more of an after thought. However pre-season rolled around and the two backs put up similar numbers with their yards being separated by around 10 yards. Stats put up tremendous touchdown totals being a feature goal line back even when playing backup. It's given the GM tandem of Nuck and Varga something to consider when seeing who should play more minutes, your franchise talent or your late round draft pick who's been an incredible surprise. It's a pleasant dilemma that's still going to be headache inducing for the head office to figure out but nonetheless, expect the Wraiths to have a potent rushing attack and to maintain their pre-season hype as one of the top teams in the league.
