If Axel Hornbacher were to switch positions, he’d probably play wide receiver on the offensive side of the ball. He’s already got the natural athleticism in speed combined with decent agility to run routes and he’s got the intelligence on how defensive backs may cover him so it would be a smooth transition. The only thing he’d have to work on is his catching skills as he’s use to being more of smear coverage type of defensive back so he’s great at batting down balls and not catching them. Physically, he’d be able to muscle anyone covering him and has a legit 6’2” frame with long arms that would help with creating separation from anyone that’s covering him along with decent jumping ability to get in range of the ball when needed. At 215 pounds, he’d be able to use his strength and size to bully smaller corners and work his way outside or inside on routes pretty easily. It’s also natural for defensive backs to be 2 way players as we’ve seen in league history so having Axel switch to wide receiver wouldn’t be a big stretch by any means. It would be a relatively smooth transition to another position.
