Written Option: It’s gameday. Professional athletes are known for their routines. Whether it’s the way you sleep/wake up, your pre-game meal, the way you drive to the stadium, or the music you listen to to get pumped up. Write about your player’s pre-game ritual and how it helps you.
I definitely try to keep the same routine each gameday. It all starts with waking up around 10 a.m. and knocking the empty tequila bottles out of the way so I can turn off my alarm. This is immedietly followed by pounding two glasses of water and a handful of pills to fight the hangover. Luckily I live near a really great restaurant that knows me well, and they deliver a breakfast burrito to me around 11:30. After eating that, and figuring out if I'm going to boot or not, it is time to drive out to the stadium. In true Tijuana fashion I make sure to not follow any laws or street signs, I don't want to stand out and get mobbed by fans for autographs.
As soon as I get to the stadium I stop by the cafeteria to load up on whatever food is provided that day, I definitely don't pass up free food and I need the fuel with all the tackles I'm expected to make. After that I head to the weight room to lightly ride an exercise bike to get the blood flowing in my legs. I throw music on my phone while I warm up, usually something fast and loud to help get me pumped up for the game. After my warm up I join my teammates in the locker room to get dressed and get ready for the game.
Oh, and I also take five shots of tequila to get me loose before getting on the field. That's a major key. That way I can fly around and make tackles without thinking about my impending CTE and life in a wheelchair.
